The one caveat I will make to my earlier comment involves the possibility that many of the Vietnamese who are being deported now did not come here as documented refugees at the end of the war but came later, on their own, possibly even in recent years, illegally. To me THEY stand in a different status than those who came as legal refugees at the end of the war and obtained their green cards.

So the article does not state that this ambassador was an Obama appointee that was about to be cleaned out of his post with the rest of the trash left there by Obama when Trump was elected and now creates the disingenuous story he resigned because Trump wanted to deport Vietnamese criminals back to Vietnam who came here after 1995 well after the Vietnam war was over and were not refugees from the war.Quite a few facts left out I would say.

Vietnam today, like China, is CINO (Communist in Name Only). There is more Made in Vietnam stuff in your local stores than Made in USA. I doubt these people have anything to fear at this point, and if they were slated for deportation there’s a reason.
If they’ve been here 40 years but are not yet citizens, we can live without them.
They knew, before they arrived here, that they must not commit crimes or they would be deported.
