Two European Parliament lawmakers from Ireland on Sunday expressed support for boycotting Israel following its winning the Eurovision song contest, JTA reported.

Lynn Boylan of Ireland’s far-left Sinn Féin party wrote on Twitter following Saturday’s win, “Israel wins Eurovision so let’s make BDS more successful than ever in 2019.”

Nessa Childers, another Irish lawmaker for the Party of European Socialists, retweeted Boylan’s message, adding the word: “This!” She later wrote: “Jerusalem? The mind boggles. I thought Tel Aviv.”

Órla Nic Biorna, a regional lawmaker for Sinn Féin, an Irish nationalist movement that was affiliated with the now-defunct Provisional Irish Republican Army terrorist group, wrote on Twitter: ”Shocked at the support for Israel tonight in the Eurovision. People seem to forget that they are a Zionist state illegally occupying Palestine.” …

No. It would be McSthoid, as used, as opposed to MacStupid, which would be scots

As in Mick as a nickname for the Irish. As in ‘you stupid mick’ which was used by Garniere in Band of Brothers

My first boss was Irish. He was never ever Nazi in word or deed. The problem may be the extreme leftist radical political hacks ( similar to the Nazi type problem in USA) but I don’t think it’s a widespread sickness in Irish. At least I sure hope not

What in the blazes has gotten into those Irish heads?

A large muzzy population.

According to the 2011 Irish census, there were 49,204 Muslims living in the Republic of Ireland, representing a 51% increase over the figures for the 2006 census.

BCC in this context = Belfast City Council. Her district is the Springfield Road section, whose residents favor breaking with the UK and joining the Irish republic (which existed from 1948 to 1972 until they joined the EU, but try telling them that). The Springfield Road area was one of the first sections of Belfast to experience riots back in 1969.

"... O'Stupid ... O'Righty ... McStupid ...."

A British classmate in the late 70s was a font of ethnic jokes, most of which would cause massive snowflake meltdown if repeated today. Many were of the "Paki-bashing" genre. But there was one he told that went like this: "Did you hear about the two Irish gays --- Patrick FitzWilliam and William FitzPatrick?" And he told a companion joke that started with "Did you hear about the two Scottish gays ....." and I can't for the life of me remember the punchline. Any ideas?

JFTR, “Mac”, the Irish and Scots Gaelic word for “son”, is not related to the diminutive name “Mick”, which is short for Michael.

Irish politicos wanting to affect foreign policy with Israel over the outcome of a television talent contest?

Must be of the same ilk who say that Trump is just a Reality TV host.

Things have changed for the worse on Irish soil; they’ve been bombarded with EU propaganda for a few decades. Not a soul back in the 1980s would ever think of repealing something like the Eighth Amendment, or voting for so-called “marriage equality” in a referendum.

My mother has an identical twin sister that still lives in Ireland, and the difference is quite marked; due to splits on issues like this, they weren’t on speaking terms for a long time.

“As in ‘you stupid mick’ which was used by Garniere in Band of Brothers”

Or “Thick Mick” as half of Boston was called by the other half when I grew up years ago in Boston-——and we Irish tossed a few back ourselves.

No one was offended,or triggered,or needed a safe space.

“Mick” is the correct spelling. I was always told when I was younger by my relatives that it had supplanted “Paddy” (Patrick) due to the upsurge of Irish boys being named Michael (or Irish spelling “Micheál”, pronounced “mee-hall”), resulting in “Mick” becoming pejorative.
