‘Bigger Than Watergate’? Both Sides Say Yes, but for Different Reasons

WASHINGTON — President Trump and his critics actually agree on something. If a column he read in a magazine is correct, he wrote on Twitter on Thursday, “this is bigger than Watergate!”

Never mind that he was thinking of something different than his adversaries when they use the same phrase. Mr. Trump was referring to what he deems a deep-state conspiracy to get him. His detractors are referring to the various scandals swirling around Mr. Trump.

Watergate has long been the touchstone for modern American scandal, the mountain of misconduct against which all others are judged. In the 44 years since Richard M. Nixon resigned, virtually every political investigation has been likened to the one that brought down a president, the suffix “gate” applied to all sorts of public flaps, no matter how significant or trivial.

But rarely has the comparison been as intense and persistent as during the 16 months since Mr. Trump took office — a comparison deployed by both sides in hopes of shaping the narrative of wrongdoing. What started out as an inquiry into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election has mushroomed into questions of perjury, obstruction of justice, conspiracy, abuse of power, illicit spying, hush money, tax fraud, money laundering and influence peddling.

What source do you have that says the GJ is in Utah? I do not think it is. I’m pretty sure we located it in NOVA.

Well, to compound matters, this is like one of those cancers that when you start to take it out, you find it is wrapped around everything.

This is why Horowtiz said he delayed the 1st report (on McCabre) because witnesses kept coming forward after they were sure he’d get fired.

Multiply that times 50 with all these different scandals.

The problem here is that this has become a complicated story (maybe intentionally).

Not complicated. The obama administration weaponized the FISA court and the FBI to spy on the opposition party.

The FBI placed or obtained a spy in the campaign.

The FBI was spying on the opponent of the democrats in more than one way. The reason you think it's complicated is because the MSM is ignoring these huge facts.

Did the Russians conspire to convince people to vote a certain way?

yes they did as they have been doing for the past 80 years. Just as China has been spying on the US and performing industrial espionage.
Just as our allies spy on us.

If they did...are we talking about more than the number of dead people that vote in each election?

who cares we always work to minimize the effects of our enemies in our free and open society.

Did McCain involve himself into a fake fact campaign? Did McCain even know any facts?

McCain is a bit player and likely a useful idiot in all of this. The fact that his pettiness drove him to obtain a copy of the Steele dossier was just icing on the cake for the criminals in the government.

Did two fake intellectual/fake GOP consultants insert something into reality from Europe?

Who cares the FBI was spying on an American citizen with no criminal record and who was duly elected by a major political party to run for president of the United States.

We were very close to becoming a technology driven police state. Where computers do the dirty work and the FBI processes the fallout. That should scare you. The fact the FBI hasn't been shut down at this point should scare you.

>>Did the Russians conspire to convince people to vote a certain way?<<

yes they did as they have been doing for the past 80 years.

But they've been nowhere nearly as effective as they were in the 1960s, when the Soviets convinced the entire democRAT party to become a bunch of wild-eyed communists.

They've been that way ever since.

I can’t find a source associating his office with any specific location. Here’s a piece from Breitbart, but it’s an expanded interview with Jonathan Turley. In it, he specifically mentions the GJ can be located anywhere, including Utah. I guess I assumed since Huber is still a current Utah US attorney, he would operate from there.

They accomplished that without the use of the internet. The funny thing is that while Russia is still a threat they are no where near the threat they were in the time period you've brought up. Yet the press never said a word about Russia back then.

No. My little Twitter team found the GJ. It’s in DC/VA (not sure exactly which). NOT in Utah. Getting witnesses there would be too difficult.
