It’s true, and I don’t have an answer for you.

Look at that idiot Maxine Waters. She’s elected over and over. Her constituents have no concept of right and wrong.

It’s just sickening.

As is probably most of Austin and much of the rest of the State coming from Mexico.

If we in Texas have to string the words “Governor” and “Valdez” together in a sentence, I’ll be sure to send everyone on this thread $10,000 from my upcoming Powerball Grand Prize winnings.

Ain’t.

Gonna.

Happen.

Texas has a semi-open primary. If you vote in the Republican primary (and there were some hotly contested congressional and down-ballot races, although not at the top of the ticket), you can’t vote in the Democrat run-off (and vice versa). Indeed, you can’t vote in any of the opposing parties races in any special elections until the next two year cycle.

But other than that, there is no registration by party.

So, hypothetically, for example, if I voted in the contested Republican primaries for Congress and state senate (and took a potshot at Ted in the primary), I couldn’t vote in the Lupe - White runoff (or, for that matter, the democrat congressional runoff in the district). But if I had stayed at home in the March primary, I could have participated this time around.

GOOD you're thinking ahead because CA is out-pricing itself! For instance, in my hometown, (San Diego) the median home price is $670,000. Outrageous. I'm moving to Mississippi in August where I own a huge house because I can no longer afford to waste $2150. monthly renting a 2 bd. 2ba. apt. on the beach, with my rent increasing $300 monthly for the next year. Screw that. Illegals and homeless seem to reside here just fine!

Even formerly conservative Plano is run by a Brooklyninte Haitian of Color. ‘Let’s rezone single family residential areas for high density low rent apartments’. Bring in the title loan and paycheck loan companies and head shops and sex shops and liquor stores. Let’s make Plano look like home.

The DNC has obviously made some erroneous ASS-uptions-people of the same ethnicity don’t vote in lockstep for the same party here, like they do in places that are DNC dominated and owned like Cali-I’m Latina, likewise my family and more than half my neighbors-not a democrat voter in the bunch -but this is 50 miles from the nearest large city, too-cities are democrat plantations...

Texas Democrats are not going to be motivated to go to the polls for a lesbian candidate for Governor. This will also hurt Democrat Congressional candidates. Democrat base is likely to be very happy with the way the country is going; so they will stay home.

It’s not just the cost of housing.

Years ago I moved to Abilene. At the time a friend asked me what Abilene was like. Knowing that he’d lived for a time in the NYC area and despite having had a 6 figure income (this was in the mid 90s) was saddled with so much debt that his payments from trying to live like he was in Texas were more than I owed a.together, I replied that “Abilene’s strengths were NYC’s weaknesses and NYC’s strength were Abilene’s weaknesses.”

That had many levels, not just economic or crime, and also extended to things like being able to do stuff at all hours of the night vs a town that eventually went home every night.

Personally I much prefer a place like Abilene.

I hope Mississippi agrees with you!

Where I’m living now, the DFW area, years ago passed the urban sprawl phase for what I call surburban fill, where the last open spaces are slowly consumed by housing, shopping and (of course) places to eat that are just like the places to eat everywhere else. Gone are the days of restaurant row....

The TX “democracy” on the contrary is giddy about projected big wins on November 6. If not Lupe, then Beto for the Senate!

But aren’t special elections in TX nominally non-partisan?
