The 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500- the greatest race in the world!!! Hometown and VP Pence family favorite Ed Carpenter sits on pole, the only driver to turn a lap in excess of 230MPH during qualifying. Marco Andretti has been strong the entire month of May but slipped in qualifying. Final race in the career of Danica Patrick, which will be covered annoyingly today. Gentlemen- Start Your Engines!!

Don’t get between me and the tv today. My parents took me to The Race every year when I was young. No matter the politics and controversy, it’s part of my personal heritage. We were 3 rows back from the spot where Eddie Sachs was killed. I remember my mom grabbing me and hauling me away. Some years we were in the infield.
