Trump may have that power but he cannot start opening up thousands of documents because there are national security issues. Trump won’t do something that helps him politically but hurts the security of the nation. He isn’t Obama.
I’ve been confused abut the role of DOJ in withholding information from Congress.
Now, as I’ve said before, Congress is not a prosecutorial or judicial body. They cannot convene a Grand Jury, they cannot issue indictments, they cannot prosecute, convict, or sentence anybody.
AND, most of the members are BS artists who would sell their mothers to stay in office.
So, I think most of the posts here about the possible good to flow from “hearings” are stupid. There is little that is good that can flow from hearings, and a lot of bad.
I’ve boiled down my opinion about the truly amazing defiance by DOJ to two real possibilities:
1) Trump is guilty of offenses that will end his Presidency once they are disclosed,
2) DOJ is after Obama, Jarrett, or both, and disclosure of what they are withholding will tip off the targets of the investigation such that they can get away or otherwise escape justice.
And Hillary? Hillary’s real crimes are decades old. Hillary 2016 edition was a sick old drunk being used as a proxy to keep Obama and Jarrett in power. She was sent out to win a rigged election, and when she couldn’t even do that, she was thrown away. She has no present and no future political role, and although her escape from prosecution for corruption is frustrating, she is not behind the coup and removing her through conviction for crimes will not neutralize the real, ongoing seditious conspiracy against Trump which is being run from the fortified Obama compound in NW DC.
If the information pertains to an ongoing criminal investigation or grand jury activity, the "voters of this nation" are most certainly NOT entitled to it, not at this time, anyway.
Hillary is, in my opinion, irrelevant to current events.
Good. Then we agree with President Trump.
Trump:
Sessions should have never recused himself and if he was going to recuse himself he should have told me before he took the job and I would have picked somebody else.
That is a shameless lie, and you should know it.
‘An opinion without one piece of evidence to back it up is called a fantasy. There is not one piece of evidence that Sessions, Rosenstein and Trump are working together on some super secret anti Deep State plan. There is however a ton of evidence that Sessions is either a coward or a traitor and that Rosenstein is a rat.’
You put it into words far better than I did.
Thank you.
All a set up. No REPORT needs to be reviewed for a month by lawyers for those at fault. The entire matter is an in your face FU to Americans. Trump is letting it happen without comment. We know the results. Comey was mean and McCabe overeached. That is all.
This is precisely whats happening.
“Hillary is, in my opinion, irrelevant to current events.”
Probably, but Dershowitz is involved as a opinion contributor. I actually commenting on him, in that I don’t understand the dichotomy of his mindset.
You’re feces, OK? You and the others don’t know jack.
I know everything! Never underestimate me!
being ignorant of something doesn’t mean it isn’t happening....

Back in 2011, the indomitable Peter Schweizer published Throw Them All Out, a detailed examination of political corruption as it is actually practiced in the halls of Congress.
In his investigation, Schweizer found one single member of Congress against whom no allegations could be held who had never taken a dime that was not his, had never cut any backroom deals, had never, simply put, played the game.
That individual was Jeff Sessions.
That fact is all you need to know to understand why Donald Trump selected Sessions for the Department of Justice, and why Sessions has followed the course he has in taking on the “Russia collusion” coup effort.
Sessions is the quintessential Eagle Scout. He will follow the rules down to the last subclause and will not make his move until every “t” has been crossed and every “i” dotted.
WASHINGTON, DC Professor Jonathan Turley, a top national legal expert on government investigations, commented on Thursday about Attorney General Jeff Sessions decision to bring in U.S. Attorney John Huber. Turley called it brilliantto combine all the powers of the U.S. Department of Justices inspector general with a prosecutor who can bring charges, seek indictments, and get results for President Trump far more quickly than a second special counsel.
Sessions sent a letter to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA), House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-SC), and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA), informing them that Huber is conducting a full-fledged criminal investigation into all the matters Republicans are calling for a special counsel to investigate. Huber has been investigating these possible crimes for five months, since November 13, 2017.
During an interview on Lou Dobbss Fox Business Network show, Turley explained to guest host Stuart Varney that the media are wrongly reporting that Sessions will not appoint a second special counsel. He did not foreclose the possibility of a special counsel, he insisted.
Instead, Turley explained that Sessions has ordered Huber to team up with the inspector general (IG) within the Justice Department to investigate these matters.
Sessions informed Congress in his letter that all the matters recommended for investigation by Goodlatte, Gowdy, and Grassley are fully within the scope of [Hubers] existing mandate. He also informed the chairmen that Inspector General Michael Horowitz, who is working with Huber, has a staff of 470 investigators, giving Huber access to enormous investigative firepower that far exceeds the staff of any special counsel.
