CHARLESTON — Suspended West Virginia Supreme Court Justice Allen Loughry was arrested by the FBI Wednesday morning and will face 22 federal charges after a grand jury meeting in Charleston indicted him Monday.

Loughry will face charges including mail fraud, wire fraud, witness tampering and lying to federal agents. The indictments had been sealed and weren't acted upon until Wednesday, when federal agents showed up at his house at about 7:30 a.m.

U.S. Attorney Mike Stuart announced the charges during a press conference at the Robert C. Byrd Federal Courthouse in Charleston.

Wikipedia’s citation has him listed as Republican - but if you read the entire article, he seems very well connected on the Democrat side of WV politics and law.

Makes no difference. If he committed crimes, he deserves what is coming to him.

One charge was lying to FBI agents. The accused is a judge and an attorney. I am neither and I know enough not to respond to questions by an FBI agent or policeman without my attorney present.

If it’s any small consolation, it’s that this is personal fraud and not selling of decisions.

Was he appointed by ex-Gov. Joe Manchin?

They have a courthouse named after an ex-klansman? Whoa!

Nah, doesn’t appear that he was. He was elected to a full term w/o being appointed first.

My first thought was “Oh, I hope he was a Manchin appointee!”

Darn!

There are a lot more judges that need to be arrested.

I hear he submitted a request to the FISA court and lied about sources.

It’s a good precedent.

For those not wanting to read the article...

He was filing false trip reports and taking some govt property and converting it to his personal property.

I wouldn't respond to any request for anything by the FBI. They are enemies of the people of the USA.

This is all work related stuff. He obviously added perks to his income with vehicle use and embellishments to his official capacity with office renovations. There is little, however, to demonstrate he was embezzling funds or substantially increasing his personal estate.
I am more than a little curious to discover the politics of this matter. Who were his enemies? Where did he stand on certain Constitutional issues?
Reimbursement for vehicle use and return of the desk are certainly called for. 300 years in prison? Hardly!

If your attorney has any brains he’ll tell you to invoke the Fifth Amendment instead of talking to the FBI.

Too many of their cases hinge on ‘lies’ like when they ask if you had breakfast with your brother on June 10, 1992 and you say “Sure, that sounds right.”

Except it was June 11, 1992.

Now you lied to the FBI and your ass is going to prison.

Meaning it’s best to remain completely silent.

Meanwhile, truly bad ass men are killing FBI agents, and others (Seth Rich). No doubt these bad ass killers work for Hillary and Bill.

Does the effeminate and PC FBI, who we see is damned good at arresting judges for using state gasoline, President Trump;s attorney for paying off a whore, and Trumps campaign manager for not being very good at filling out forms...…………. even have any fearless, bad ass men on their payroll to break doors down and kill and/or arrest these killers in the employ of Hillary and Bill and others?

Millions of us doubt it.

“Where did he stand on certain Constitutional issues?”

Well, he is accused of ignoring the Constitutional issue about stealing from the taxpayer.

The operative word with your response is: If

So if he didn't commit crimes, are the FBI targeting Republicans? If he did commit the crimes then the answer is no.
