SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The homeless encampments and drug addicts have become more visible to tourists, at times overshadowing the many landmarks that make San Francisco unique.
Groups that hold their conventions here continue to take notice.
"And it's not just groups but also a lot of individual travelers. We hear a lot from individual travelers that have come here and have had negative experiences on the streets and say they don't want to come back to San Francisco, said Joe D'Alessandro, President and CEO of the San Francisco Travel Association.

Many residents find it...erotic.
*shrug* To a gay man sex smells like, uh, poop...
I wish the article said what medical association is cancelling future conventions in San Francisco. This isn’t people from Chicago. If they’re going out of state for a convention, it’s a national association. San Francisco could be losing thousands of visitors over this.
And I always liked that Journey song, “Lights”, you know, “when the lights go down in the city”, “city by the bay”, but now I imagine that bay being full of great white sharks. So if someone decides to kill themselves by jumping off the bridge, they may get more than they even bargained for, lol.
Sundance: Wait! I can’t swim!
Butch: (laughs) Are you crazy? The fall will probably kill you!
The Corrie reference is to the bulldozer. Give ‘em (the bums) a 24-hour heads-up and then bulldoze the encampments. If they haven’t moved away — tough sh*t. There is the Corrie connection for you...SSZ
All these sources I’ve seen do NOT identify which medical association has canceled.
The AMA does have its headquarters in Chicago. But so do a number of other medical associations, typically focusing on specialty practices.
Just to keep the story straight (haha), I haven’t seen a source confirming the medical association which canceled was the AMA.
I don’t find it appropriate to bash an organization without confirming it’s the organization in the first place.
Cool memory. That was the first movie I ever saw in a movie theater.
