Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer launched a preemptive attack Monday on President Trump’s looming Supreme Court pick, saying the nominee must “share their personal views” on abortion in order to be confirmed.

Mr. Schumer, New York Democrat, said senators should no longer accept general promises of fealty to precedent, and will instead demand...

It’s the Republican hold backs that will be the fly in the ointment...not the Dems...and those who are up for reelection.

“A mind is a terrible thing to waste.”

In Schmucky Choomer's case, that's nothing to worry about.

Trump's pick must divulge his thoughts on the authority of the executive branch to expel illegal aliens.

The public may then evaluate senators on their confirmation vote in light of this issue.

It is up to all of us to keep the immigration issue front and center. Let Roe vs Wade fall with a whimper, not even being allowed center stage at the time of its demise.

The left threw all its eggs in the population replacement basket, and now there are no Abortinators left who are do not also have open borders advocacy records.

Nothing riles the Democrats more than the threat of ending their decades old practice of murdering fetuses.

I wonder how old Chuck was when he was first told to “pound sand”? 4? 5? It should be his nick name.

No they don’t.

The ONLY proper answer for ALL questions of the SCOTUS nominee is “I can only evaluate cases before me and how the USC applies to them. I will not address a theoretical case.”

PERIOD.

There was a story line in The Sopranos where they would take Uncle Junior to his doctor’s appointment and then plan a hit in the office. Because Roe v. Wade drew a veil of privacy around doctors’ offices and they knew the Feds couldn’t bug their conversations in there.

Chuckie forgets he's the minority leader and doesn't dictate senate rules

He commands a pretty substantial majority to defend baby killing, though.

It's hard to figure out, because the Democrats (49) only need one or two Republicans to kill any nominee.

I'm sure Schumer has a list of ten or more Republicans who would be willing to be vote #50 (or #51 if McCain can be dragged in), but as soon as he's got the votes, he can release the others so the final vote is 50-49 against (or 51-50 against, if needed).

This Senate will NEVER confirm a Supreme Court Associate Justice who will not SWEAR to uphold Roe v. Wade. That's reality.

It's also why I favor nominating Amy Barrett, because the vicious Borking she will surely receive (and her subsequent rejection) will do more to win Senate seats in November than anything else could possibly do.

But this Senate will not be confirming anyone who does not promise to uphold the "right" to kill your baby.

The nominee can just invoke the Ginsburg rule and move on. Looking forward to watching the meltdown.
