Levin: Never Seen a Campaign ‘as Aggressive, as Nasty, as Ruthless, and as Dishonest’ as Kavanaugh’s

Nationally syndicated radio talk show host, TV host, author and American lawyer Mark Levin (Screenshot) On his nationally syndicated radio talk show Monday, host Mark Levin expressed alarm at the forcefulness with which some had pushed for Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court

Below is a transcript of Mark Levin’s remarks on his show Monday:

“Then we get to Kavanaugh. I have never seen a campaign for a Supreme Court justice to be nominated as aggressive, as nasty, as ruthless, and as dishonest as the campaign behind Kavanaugh. That’s not to say he wouldn’t make a good justice, but there are questions.

“And should he be the nominee – because apparently, he’s the leading candidate, I don’t know firsthand – should he be the nominee, and he’s in front of that committee, we constitutional conservatives, that is, we constitutionalists, we want conservatives like Mike Lee and Ted Cruz to ask some questions to satisfy our concerns, particularly on Obamacare, particularly on abortion, particularly on immigration.

“I don’t need to hear his views on Chevron and the administrative state. We know they’re good. They’re very good. But I need to know if he’s a constitutionalist. All of them, all of them.”

Yes, I know!

I was impressed that he was able to (barely) stand. He had his cane but it looked like he was maybe trying not to use it.

Did you see him? I thought he looked great.

This might have something to do with why they went with Kavanaugh:

"Justice Elena Kagan, who before being seated at the Court served as the dean of Harvard Law School, hired [Brett] Kavanaugh to teach at the school."

Whoops.

My gut also tells me Kavanaugh is a mistake, I have been THRILLED with Gorsuch, I believe as you do that we will have ANOTHER Roberts and Kennedy on our hands but there is not much we can do about it!!! I PRAY I am wrong about Kavanaugh HOWEVER with Rove and the Bushies ALL IN for this pick I am VERY WORRIED wish Trump would have taken up the fight for a different pick!!! There is NOTHING better than a SC Justice pick on the line to get OUR side to the polls in the midterms!!! I realize that the Justice would not be seated until after the court resumes BUT we could have also possibly gained MORE seats in the senate with the SC Justice seat on the line!!!! I also wish I felt better about this pick!!!!

I hope this isn’t correct. I think POTUS should be filling the court with as many conservatives now while he has the openings because I’m not sure other spots may open during his office.

Levin was a rabid Never-Trumper.

He denies it but his pre-election shows are likely easy to find.

Ignoring Levin, my gut tells me the Democrats have nothing to worry about.

No Mark the most aggressive campaign was your phone call campaign having all your listeners call the Radio Hall of Fame. That was shameful.

So what?

Read the man’s decisions. Listen to the speech he gave accepting the nomination. His fidelity to the constitution is without question

Levin was definitely an asshole, but that battle is no more.

“I need to know if he’s a constitutionalist.”

Typical liar. Levin is a jealous little boy who feels hatred for Kavanaugh rather than appreciation for the awesome judge. Levin is acting as if he knows the law better than Kavanaugh. Dude. Get off the radio and get into a practice. What a punk.

Nobody perfect, but Levin right on today about Kavanaugh. I persoannly think he has much to like as far as his judicial philosophy. He is admirable as far as his character and persoal life go.

BUT Levin read the transcript of Kavanaugh’s reasoning back and forth with the Lawyer arguing against calling a penalty for disobeying the mandate a tax in the circuit case hearing prior to the Robert’s decision that the mandted resulted in a tax.

This exchange and Kavanugh’s decision on that case was the same tack Roberts took in his Scotus decision on the Obamacare mandate.

It was an exercise in avoiding precedent re the meaning of the words penalty and taxes in prior cases. Sad to hear.

Sorry guys. Read it on Levin. He MAY be right.

From what I heard, he was hired as the token conservative. Nothing more, nothing less.

Agreed. This is a Bushie's choice, and the best we can hope for is a pleasant surprise.

His 2A position has been solid. His positions on regulatory agencies are apparently also solid, and being on the DC Circuit that would be a huge part of his docket.

He has a long paper trail. I'm hoping serious people (that rules out all Democrats and all but a few Republicans) will ask him serious questions.
