They cost a LOT more than that, depending on the type of clearance.

That reminds me, FBI/DOJ people would have entirely different clearances than DoD people and intel weenies.

A DOE clearance is entirely different from a DoD or intel clearance.

See the answers at #4 and #50. All add to them as former military when you get out with a Top Secret security clearance and are seeking employment in the private sector that does business with government as a contractor many require an active security clearance to get a foot in the door as it makes it much easier for the employers.

Under the current guidance, TS clearances are good for six years and those of Secret are 10 years.

Don’t forget Peter Strzok and Lisa Page.

Anyway, FORMER officials, don’t need to continue to have clearance......especially traitorous scumbags like these.

All that has come from them continuing to have this clearance, are leaks to the MSM

It gets revoked if you get a DUI, file a Bankruptcy, get fired or quit a job.

As far as I can tell they were all fired.

It’s an insane policy. If you don’t work for the US government any longer you have no need to have a government security clearance. I had a security clearance until I retired from the US military, During my outprocessing my security clearance was withdrawn and I had to sign a statement saying I would never devulge any classified information that I was aware of on active duty. It’s against the law. But that’s the military. We’re just peons. The Deep Staters are treated like they’re special. They have to be able to write books and make fortune off their job for the few years they worked for the Federal government. People call them Director, Ambassador, Senator, Congressman, Secretary, President, for the rest of their natural lives for serving as little as a couple of years, because they’re special. And let’s not forget about that big fat pension they get for service a few years in the federal government.

There is nothing natural about their lives at all.

Yeah, the rest of us are just peons.

Obama did nothing in the 8 years he served as president but rip this country part. Nothing got better under him, only worse. He tried his best to turn this country into just another socialist hell-hole. He was obsessed with degeneracy and turned sexual perversion into something that’s protected and glorified, Tbe stinking, filthy degeneracy is now taught in public schools as normal behavior, and it’s tsught from K to 12 years. Perverts now are allowed in women’s restrooms and all they have to say is they “identify” as a woman. It’s insanity but it’s what that communist POS accomplished. He’ll go down in history as the worst president who ever lived. No one else comes close. What does he get for his destruction? His entire monthly salary for the rest of his miserable life. He made over a half million dollars a year as president. Do the math. In addition he gets Secret Service protection for the rest of his miserable life. He gets to charge a million dollars to give a speech for a room full of liberal idiots. I read yesterday where he has already collected over 60 million dollars telling the world how great he was and how Trump is a natural disaster. He nauseates me,

Washington Press Corp was giving Sarah an impossible time over this. You’d think high security clearance was a civil right.

Why is it that only our guys are always "looking into," "thinking about," "considering," "evaluating," "contemplating," "deliberating," "mulling over," "pondering," "weighing."

$hit or get off the pot!

I spent 24 years in uniform and 15 as a DOD Civilian - was a Unit Security Manager in both positions.....when one leave the job that required the clearance, they are 'signed out" (legal document laying out charges for leaking any retained knowledge/holding on to unauthorized data, etc.) and their electronic record is tagged that they no longer have access (electronic record is only authorized method for checking/verifying authorization to access so any security manager in the world would access same database before allowing access).

Access is terminated but the clearance remains intact until it naturally expires as some folks end up working for other government agencies/contractors and some conditions allow reactivation of the clearance for a specific set of access....the clearance says one has been vetted for access - the specific job determines the actual allowed access and that is entered by the agency currently employing the individual...between assignments, many have their access turned off and then it can be turned back on by the gaining agency if/when needed for the actual job. When one leaves the job, access is "turned off" so anyone allowing access would be breaking the law....here's hoping their access was terminated when they left and nobody allowed them access since....

It would make sense to me if all security clearances were revoked when people were no longer in those positions. My late husband worked in aerospace for years, and each time he went to work for a new company or was given a promotion, he had to get a new security clearance. Each time he left, it was revoked.

Government should be no different.

Their Clearances should have been pulled the day they left the job..I had a Top Secret clearance for years and the day I retire it was revoked....”NO NEED TO KNOW”...is the reference.

Unfortunately he will probably outlive me

I stand corrected. Access is revoked. You do retain clearance. You need both to get classified info. At least that’s the case for us deplorables.
