PORTLAND, Ore. — Dueling protests in downtown Portland erupted into chaos after what the Portland Police Bureau says were bottles and rocks thrown at officers.
Officers in riot gear deployed flash bangs at counterprotesters downtown near the Hawthorne Bridge, causing much of the group to quickly disperse.
Soon after, officers declared the demonstration a 'civil disturbance.'
Once again Saturday, Portland was home to clashes between a right-wing group and self-described anti-fascist counterprotesters who have pledged to keep Patriot Prayer and other affiliated groups out of this ultra-liberal city.
A rally organized Saturday by Patriot Prayer leader Joey Gibson was the third to roil Portland this summer. Two previous events ended in bloody fistfights and riots, and one counterprotester was sent to the hospital with a skull fracture.
Protesters on both sides began gathering around 10 a.m. Saturday at the Waterfront. Hundreds of people with the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) group kicked off their day with a demonstration outside City Hall before marching to Tom McCall Waterfront Park.

Antifa just could not help themselves. They hate cops as much as they hate Patriot Prayer and Proud Boys.
They started throwing rocks and bottles at the police line keeping them on THEIR side of the street. So a bunch of angry cops responded with tear gas, flash bangs and clubs.
They drove them several blocks away, leaving Patriot Prayer to have their demonstration unmolested.
I am CERTAIN the mayor of Portland is p!ssed. His core constituency was assaulted by his cops.
All in all, a great victory for Free Speech and the Right to Assemble. And the rule of law.
These folks did a great service to the nation today.
Kudos to Patriot Prayer and the Proud Boys.

13. “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.
That’s a hard question to answer.
However, they did a great service in Portland today.
There are Black members of Patriot Prayer and both groups disavow racism adamantly.
What are the Patriot Prayer people demonstrating for or against? Or are the demonstrating nothing and just trying to stir up trouble?

Their goal is to bring back the right to assemble and the right to free speech to the west coast.
They will hold another rally in Seattle on August 18th to protest left-wing violence.
After the victory today (forcing cops to enforce the law against rioters), expect the international left/anarchists/antifa to pull out all the stops.
And the mayor of Seattle is already sh!tting bricks.
