All gates on Fort Campbell Kentucky are closed until further notice. A vehicle entered the installation without stopping. Procedures dictate that all gates close until the vehicle is located or situation is deemed all clear
I gotta take a shower.
drill??
no, a vehicle
Not based on what was said.
There haven’t been any details released other than they’re still looking for the vehicle. This just happened a short time ago.
“drill??”
Cordless?

How odd. I was born there. When dad told me about the place all he ever mentioned was he wanted out when he was there. Of course that was back in 1952. I never remember anyone wanting to break in to a military base in my younger years. Break out? Me USN 71 to 78.
So how come the MPs at the gate didn’t open fire when the vehicle didn’t stop?
Or give chase?
No, a drill. They speculate it had to be a cordless drill because of the fact it scurried too far to have been plugged in.
Yes, that’s all that’s been reported so far.
I gather there won’t be any more reports until they find the vehicle and driver. Hope it’s soon!
It could be a boring machine, then it would be a drill AND a vehicle.
On the other hand a boring machine wouldn’t cause this much excitement.

Just launch a UAV and if it looks hostile, use it for target practice (/sarcam off)
PFC Snuffy late for Guard Mount?
The reporter stated this happened before but didn’t say much more than that.
These days, it’s usually people with ill intent who break into a military base.
Break out? Yeah, I can think of a few who wouldn’t have minded when I was married to my first hubby in the early ‘70s ..... a Marine at Camp Lejeune. Probably a common thought in all branches then. :-)
Thank you for your service!
That’s pretty much what they said on Channel 5.
I tried to post something from their site a while back but it’s one of those “no nos” here, so I just used the Twitter link.
I keep checking and hoping they’ll post that the perp has been located and busted.
Always a possibility, I suppose, and much more preferable to the idea of a muslim thug slipping through.
On an army base? That’s strange. You have to be pretty good to hide out there.
Very good question. I was about to post the same.
AFAIK, the gate guards do have ammo for their weapons, so when a vehicle blows through the gate stop they should have perforated that vehicle.
