FULL TITLE: Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen pleads guilty, admits to making illegal payments at direction of candidate to influence election

Michael Cohen, the former personal lawyer and fixer for President Donald Trump, has struck a plea deal with federal prosecutors, NBC News reported on Tuesday.

Cohen came under investigation by federal prosecutors in New York City earlier this year. They had received a referral from special counsel Robert Mueller, who is leading the probe of Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

Prosecutors had been eyeing Cohen's business dealings. The New York Times reported that federal authorities were looking into $20 million in loans for taxi businesses linked to Cohen.

They impeached Clinton but the senate did not remove him.

“Two of those counts appear to relate to Trump directly. Cohen admitted on Tuesday to making payments to two women at the direction of an unidentified candidate for political office. Those payments, Cohen said, were made to influence the outcome of the election.”

I just heard the lawyer, and he said that the illegal campaign contributions were illegal because they were too much, the $20 million loan was bad because of false statements to the bank, and the “repayment by Pres. Trump” was actually fraudulent invoices for work not done (which actually might be a way to pay Cohen back surreptitiously).

The idea that payment to a porn star is election interference means that Hellary’s payment to Brits and Russians for dirt on Pres.Trump is also election interference. In fact, finding out anything, good or bad, about an opponent must be election interference.

If they somehow succeed in removing President Trump because a woman extorted money from him then it’s scorched earth time for Washington DC.

Funny how it works. ANYBODY associated with Hillary with a law degree was deemed
her attorney with attorney client privilege so extended. For Trump not so much.

Sounds like something to worry about to me.

This is why President Trump can't testify to Mueller's Inquisition. Cohen, a lowlife who taped conversations with his client then turned on his client says this is what happened. If President Trump said it didn't happen, would it be called perjury because they believe that lying, self-serving lowlife Michael Cohen?

I'm baffled why President Trump didn't put an August 1 (done before the recess) deadline on the investigation. The stuff that's being invented is so far removed from "Russia, Russia, Russia", it's ludicrous and is nothing but evil intent against President Trump.

No one has ever explained to me why these women aren’t guilty of blackmail by trying to get large sums of money from Trump to remain quiet about a consensual sexual act?

Every dollar spent on yard signs was meant to influence the election too. So what?

“In its initial report the Wall Street Journal elaborated that the payment was made through a private company, Essential Consultants LLC. The company was founded by Cohen on October 17, 2016, in Delaware.[22] At the time, Daniels was reportedly in talks to tell her account to Good Morning America and Slate.[23] The Daily Beast was also in talks with Daniels ‘after three sources—including fellow porn star Alana Evans—told The Daily Beast that Daniels and Trump were involved. Daniels ultimately backed out on November 3, just five days before the 2016 election.’”

Good Morning America apparently must have know about Daniels and Trump before the election.

Apparently Daniels was still trying for a second deal after getting Cohen’s money.

This was NEVER about that we all knew it. It was about finding something, anything. The feds, and intel are tring to take out a sitting President and it started THE DAY after he was elected.
It won’t stop. If these assholes win in November our agenda is DOA. The globalist agenda carries on and the USA will not recover. Trump is it. The last hope. As we’ve seen no other GOP pol has the guts to do what is necessary regarding borders and trade.

Given it was Trump's money, how is it an illegal contribution? It is perfectly legal for candidates to spend their own money on their campaigns without limit.

Cohen was getting $35,000 a month from DJT's personal account. His job was to put out fires without bothering his client. Moreover, DJT specifically reimbursed the $130,000 paid to shut Stormy up.

It's time for the President to contact Jeff Sessions and ask if he is going to do his job and if not ask for his resignation. We need an AG that will indict and arrest Hillary Clinton, James Comey, Peter stroker, etc.

Start charging and arresting some of the Obama criminals, lock THEM in solitary confinement and see how fast Mueller wraps up his investigation.

Hmmmm. Anyone remember this?

President Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign was fined $375,000 by the Federal Election Commission for campaign reporting violations — one of the largest fees ever levied against a presidential campaign, POLITICO has learned.

“But Mueller can force Trump now before a Grand Jury, is that correct?”

Oh Cohen’s word?

No, I don’t think so.

We don’t know that Cohen is telling the truth.

Even if he is, it’s a campaign finance law violation, which is minor, and something that occurs all the time.

The problem isn’t criminal. It’s political. It gives the Democrats fodder for impeachment if the Dems win in November. That’s why it’s so important for Republicans get out and vote and don’t become complacent as they did during the special elections a few weeks ago.
