As a cancer patient, I’m in awful chrinic pain. I’ve written to my gov about how this war on medication is hurting those who need it. This extreme view is hurting those who legitimately need help.

Illegal Fentanyl is the problem !!

DP is short for Death Penalty, like DR is for Death Row.

Have Y’All had the “Pain Clinic” Rodeo yet ?

You know, the one were You GP or Primary Doc can’t write Rx’s for more than 7 days of Opioid Pain Meds.

Then the GP has to do a Referral to get You IN to the waiting list to SEE the “Pain Clinic” - After a 2 to 16 week wait for an appointment to be “evaluated” and then told it will be another 1 to 4 weeks before you can return for an appointment to find out if they will help you or not.

Then if they do say they’re going to help they start trying to give you Rx’s for “Non-Opioid” alleged “Pain Meds” that 98% of the time don’t work for MOST people that have had to go to The level of Pain Meds they have.

Then if they do write an Rx for Opioids you will only get enough for the days until the next appointment and no more. They also have a limit of 90mg/24 hours total no matter what it ACTUALLY takes to control the Pain FOR REAL.

None of the “Medical Professionals” running these “Pain Clinics” have ever actually used these Meds themselves. Instead they rely on “Clinical Trials” that for the most part are useless.

Then you have to do a Piss Test before they will refill your Rx. If you don’t have any Insurance coverage then you out of pocket costs will be close if not more than:

1st Visit: $400.00
1st Piss Test: $75.00
1st Visit TTL: $475.00

2nd and Follow up Visits:

Consultation Visit: $175.00
Follow Up Piss Test: $75.00
2nd or more Visits TTL $ 250.00

If you have Insurance it will vary. My Copay is $50.00 @ Visit.

Then if you are paying out of pocket at the Rx, depending on what Med Rx is prescribed cost can vary from $35 - $5642.04 for one month.

BTW- the High Dollar Med is nothing new or fancy. It was created back in 1939 in Germany. On top of that (for Me anyway) is useless. I may has well have been taking Baby Asprin.

BTW2: The Piss Testing at My “Pain Clinic” is done with Test Strips and there is NO Chain of Custody. So it’s a semi-bogus test.

I understand the piss test. One reason is to test to be sure it is in the system as some sell their meds instead.

I’ve been blessed with a professional and understanding pain management team. They are strict, but they do help me. Most people are not so lucky tho.

Both of you need to join a Pain org that are activist. I belong to several. You learn, and you keep up on legislation at both state and Fed level. They don’t just swap stories. They are real Activist. Read some of Roger’s and Red’s articles, both are Pain Advocates, Roger is a patient, and Red’s wife and daughter are the patients.

As for MMJ I won’t smoke, watched my parents die of Lung cancer.

Tried CBD oil, Kratom neither liked my body, then very little does.

While attention is diverted by Russiagate, and other crap the dems are pulling, this has been going on under the radar. I tried posting a couple of articles all I got was heckled about it. People who don’t go through these illnesses or have relatives who have them are very insensitive to the subject. All in the name of Bipartisanship, to funnel money back to the states, counties for all the OD’s, crime, etc. Instead of into treating Patients and finding cures. A Cured Patient is not profitable to PIG PHARMA.

Since I have a heart condition Fenatayl the legal stuff is not viable, slows my heart down to much, Morphine is like having a heart attack. Sessions Advil is a ULCER waiting to happen. I take Valium for 4 health conditions as I go into spasms or seizures or both. I’m 70 and still fighting. May only be phone calls and research, but I’m not stopping. With Gastro issues Opioids are rare as they shut the bowels down. I can get away with a few days, but no more.

Yes, my son has had to go to the pain clinic for several years now. He has insurance but still has to pay out of pocket quite a bit. They decreased the time in between visits, costing him more.

TN has 65 pain clinic or Pill Mills left, and they treat only 1 issue, not multiple ones.

We're talking Federal criminal law here...not communicable diseases.

And I'm asking a legitimate question here. Not looking for a Ministry of Silly Answers reply.

You went to the trouble to give Me a halfassed answer so now I'll go back to the list of 207 knowing that I can take one more off it. Ya-Yippie, only 200 or so to go.

So DP might mean Dumb Politicians ?

And just by the Title of the Thread I see the words Opioids and Federal but I don't see the words Law or Criminal

Probably not a bad idea. On another note - mmj comes in pill , drop form, not just in smoking /vape form. My pain clinic encouraged me to try it as an alternative. Thc is not my friend. It actually amplified my pain. I do use hemp form of cbd oil. That helps with joint pain. But, my joint pain is almost an inconvenience compared to my true pain issues.

I understand the reasons. If I can barely get what’s needed for handling My Pain the is no way in he!! I’m going to part with My “allocation” of Meds.

There is no amount of money that I would take for even 1 of My pills. I take them with Me when I leave the house. If I’m in possession of them then I know where they are and they can’t be stolen.

I would gladly put a round or two of ammo into anyone that would try to take My pills away.

My solution to the “Opioid crisis” is Street Junkies get caught they get one freebie to detox after they get out of jail for the first offence. If they get caught again I’ll donate the round of ammo to shoot and kill them. They will end up dead anyway so Society can just go ahead and speed up the process. It costs way less than NARCAN does.

I saw a Pic the other day of a Sign Board that said:

How is it that My Diabetes Drugs cost $750.00 a month but Drug Addicts get NARCAN for FREE !?

Back to the testing. The CoC (Chain of Custody) is Important. That’s what makes the results valid.
There is a better CoC for a Public Drinking Water System Bac-T (Bacterial Testing) than at My Pain Clinic for a Piss Test. How do I KNOW that the Lab didn’t swap or cross up or cross contamination My and/or Somebody else’s sample ?

I think all drugs should just be available OTC. The overdoses are all Democrats /Marxists anyway. Vote for choice!
