Ed Whelan concluded his tweetstorm saying, “To be clear, I have no idea what, if anything, did or did not happen in that bedroom at the top of the stairs, and I therefore do not state, imply or insinuate that Garrett or anyone else committed the sexual assault that Ford alleges. Further, if Ford is now mistakenly remembering Garrett to be Kavanaugh, I offer no view whether that mistaken remembrance dates from the gathering or developed at some point in the intervening years.”
Feinstein is refusing to give Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley the unredacted letter Christine Ford sent Senate Democrats in July further fueling suspicions there is exculpatory evidence in the letter.

Some are generalizing OR there’s some creeps out there. Hopefully generalizing. We all tried to get into a girls pants so to speak and with the hormones flowing, many of us pushed until the girl said no very strongly.

The largest number of people Ford claims to have been at the party was four boys and another girl, in addition to herself. Here we see statements already collected from Kavenaugh, Mark Judge, and "third person" whom I think would be PJ Smythe. So "fourth person" would be either the fourth boy or the other girl. If Ed Whelan or Grassley announce that "fourth person" is this Garrett guy, that will be the biggest Perry Mason moment in recent history.

. . . and what happens to him? Is Diane Feinstein gonna clap handcuffs on him? No Federal crime, and the Maryland Statute of limitations must be past since forever. And he won’t even need it because even with all the “corroboration” in this scenario, it doesn’t prove that "Ford’s memory” represents anything bad happened before 2012. As you say, it’s a bogus “recovered memory” - and one which certainly (if you’re trying to prosecute Garret you are admitting) has one of its details - the perp - wrong.I still say that Kavenaugh needs the Hillary Clinton defense technique:
- Anyone with two brain cells connected together knows that there is a vast left-wing conspiracy which has been subverting the reputations of conservative judges at least since Bork.
- There is nowhere near enough to investigate to begin to prove the allegation true or false.
- nobody was killed.
- the prestige of the US government was not compromised by the brutalizing and murder of a US ambassador.
- nobody spent a night in terror and fighting for their lives without support from their U.S. government employer.
- And the putative event is ancient - over 35 year old - history.
- So the natural question for Senator Feinstein is,
“What difference, at this point, does it make?”
I am no lawyer, but isn't that a practice that could get a lawyer dis-barred. Isn't the defense entitled to all evidence that is brought against him/her?
There are posts on social media she told a friend she had 64 as is partners between high school and college, others saying she blew a whole series of guys one after the other one night in the back seat of a station wagon, and she admits going unescorted, alone, to a house with four older boys where alcohol was served. Whelan doesn’t implicate someone else unless he knows exactly where it will lead. Garrett must have the goods on her.
Bottom line is: We can’t allow this to happen. No one will ever be safe from venomous and false stories in the future if we do. Red line in the sand. Prove it or go away.
There is no statute of limitations on sexual assault felonies in the state of Maryland. There is a statute of limitations on filing a civil suit in such cases.
Did I miss something? When did Ford say it was at that house at that time/party?
If she didn’t say when and where it happened, why are we spinning our wheels by proving Kavanaugh did not do it to her at that house at that time/party?
Can’t she (along with her supporters) merely respond that it must had been at another house and or time/party?
We could ask the Chinese if they have a copy. Maybe the Chinese spy Feinstein kept on her payroll for 20 years took a copy along with the top secret stuff she was foolishly entrusted with.
