Grassley Crazy in Midnight Tweetstorm
Breitbart ^ | 21 Sep 2018 | Ian Mason

UPDATE: Approximately 90 minutes after the expiration of the 10:00 p.m. deadline, Chairman Grassley took to Twitter, where he made clear that, despite his repeated extensions, he is offering yet another extension to Christine Blasey Ford’s legal team, presumably until Saturday, for her to decide whether to testify, in line with attorney Deborah Katz’s demands:

They shouldn’t give the maniacs anymore time. I’d wager they’re stalling so they can put together obnoxious demonstrations that will give Collins and Flake excuses to vote against Kavanaugh.

"..... We can say we tried working with her six... seven ...times and SHE refused. A few days ago the independents thought we’re not being fair to her. We need them to win in 6 weeks. We have to win the house and the senate. Once we do the democrats are toast. Then they will have to put on their hoods join antifia and show everyone who they really are. In a year or two Trump will appoint Ginsburgs replacement and then it will be war. They will be completely unhinged. But God IS on our side."

Indeed. We must appear fair to the independent voters or it will cost us the House and the Senate. We will never sway the diehard Left to change their ways or think or act reasonably. The only thing we can do is convince voters we have a better path for America and vote them out of office.

Some on here are misinterpreting Grassley's public appeals to the lady to come and give her testimony as a sign of weakness, but he must give superficial service to the "fairness" for the sake of the elections coming up.

McConnell took a tremendous amount of heat postponing the Supreme Court replacement in 2016 to the president elect to choose. That was a Hail Mary pass in hopes that the Republican candidate might just possibly pull out a win, a feat which our President Trump did in fact manage. And that effort gave us Neal Gorsuch on the SC. Rome was not built in a day and these Left-leaning 'Rats will take some time to root out.

Another quote from the speech sighted above. The judicial confirmations are a tremendously important duty which our slim majority has done a bang-up job of to-date:

"“If you want to have longtime impact on what kind of country we’re going to have for the next generation, the single most consequential thing we can do is these lifetime appointments of these men and women to the court that believe the job of a judge is to follow the law,”

I wonder if Professor Ford is this lenient with her course assignment deadlines.

Grassley by reputation is an early to bed early to rise guy. He should not be up late at his age particularly. It impaired his judgement.

But can someone actually give ma a reason, a positive reason, to vote FOR a republican??!?

1) Dems take House=DJT Impeached
2) Dems take House and Senate=DJT Impeached, Convicted, and Removed.
3) Afterward, Pence is similarly treated- Impeached, Convicted, and Removed.
4) President Pelosi

Your choice: President Trump or President Pelosi;
Your choice: all DJTs achievements reversed or all BHO ‘achievements’ restored;
Your choice: A prosperous America, or a Third World America.

Exactly. Flake is on the committee and the Reps can only afford to lose one vote from the 51 in the Senate. Grassley has to herd these cats across the finish line. This should be the last red line or the Reps are finished. Kavanaugh must be confirmed this week.

Way to go senator chuck (NO COJONES) Grassley. The GOP is slowly strangling itself to death. Imagine what would happen in a real emergency. Pitiful bungle artists, all.

Grassley still has a few squishy Republicans to convince.

Or provide cover for.

She should be able to get to Washington DC by Monday at 10:00 AM. By teleconference or by plane, if not by train or by automobile.

The GOP is not strangling itself. It is part of the Deep State. Ask yourself, who did Grassley support in 2016?

I know Chuck Grassley, do you? I worked on or with several Iowa presidential campaigns. You? There’s a reason they allow Iowa to be the first caucus state and punish other states that try to horn in ahead of them.

BTW, did you ever consider who is the head of the Republican Party? That would be President Donald J. Trump.

“Grassley still has a few squishy Republicans to convince.”

This. I do not see why it is so hard for some on this board to understand this. There are a few too many “Flakes” in the Republican Party.

It’s not Grassley, but four fence-sitting GOP Senators. I’m no fan of moderates either, but we’re stuck with them and Need their votes.

Agree, agree, agree!

When I went to bed last night, the consensus was that Grassley’s twitter account has been compromised. Those last few tweets sound nothing like him - and I can’t imagine him using those kind of abbreviations or making jokes in the face of all this. Since you know him, what do you think? Do these tweets sound like something he would say?

now is a good time, right before midterms.

I’m a betting man here and have hunch there are more democrats on it. Who knows, the Left’s last lion (John McCain) may even be on it.
