Tucker Carlson: This is how DEMS plan to kill Kavanaugh nomination
The National Sentinel ^ | 9/22/18 | USA Features

Strategery: Late Friday Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Charles Grassley took to Twitter to announce he’d granted Christine Blasey Ford, who has accused Judge Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault, another delay after she said, through her lawyer, she would not be ready to testify before his committee by early next week.

The delay was hugely disappointing to supporters of Judge Kavanaugh because they a) don’t buy Ford’s 36-year-old allegations given the suspicion and controversies surrounding them; and b) believe that he will make a fine Supreme Court justice for decades to come.

It’s not clear why Grassley, R-Iowa, caved again. It’s also not clear why he would complain that he believes Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., is running the Senate rather than Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., especially since McConnell told a gathering in D.C. on Friday — in no uncertain terms — that Kavanaugh would “soon” be seated at the high court.

“It’s not clear why Grassley, R-Iowa, caved again.”

It’s becoming clear to me because these are the only possible explanations.

(1) The squish Republicans in the Senate see this as an easy way to keep an originialist off the court and not get blamed. Delay Grassley long enough and they don’t have to vote.

(2) Senate Republicans who we would not ordinarily call squishes up for reelection have their finger in the wind and don’t know which way it’s blowing. It this goes on ‘til after the midterm, they don’t have to vote.

What does it take to stop this nonsense about Thursday being the last day for a vote on Kavanaugh. They can vote anytime and he can be seated anytime.

“IF Kavanaugh’s nomination fails, but the GOP picks up additional Senate seats in November, . . .”

The GOP will lose the Senate if they don’t confirm Kananaugh. And they will take down the whole party with them. Lots of conservatives will undervote if they refuse to confirm this good man.

Kavanaugh will be confirmed.

What truly amazes me, is the democrats know this. They may think they are damaging Kavanaugh, and rendering his decisions forever flawed and tainted in SCOTUS, but what they are really doing is forever tainting him against the left and everything they stand for.

Keep it up libs! I love it when you help us!

Read Grassley's tweet again about being 2nd trombone while Schumer is the conductor.

This is ALL on McConnell.

He's blocking Kavanaugh so he can get Trump to pass his Omnibus bill and Trump will have a "Read my lips" moment to derail his 2020 chances.

Are you taking actual offense at my question?

Isn’t FR a place we can pool our knowledge base and educate one another?

Why in the world would you be criticizing my innocent question, and where is the vindictiveness in your response coming from... ?

Weird.

Yes. I took one look. If you want to get specific, maybe i mean it the same way Christ tells us we will have the same gifts of discernment that He had... “Jesus looked at a man and could tell what was in his heart...”

Merrick Garland was nominated on March 16, 2016, and his nomination expired on January 3, 2017, with the end of the 114th Congress. His nomination was in effect for 293 days.

Unless there is some rule that once the Senate takes up consideration of a Supreme Court nomination that it must be brought to a Senate judiciary committee or full Senate vote by a certain date (of which I have been unable to find evidence), I don't see why Kavanaugh could not be confirmed in October.

It’s important, in this post John Roberts’ world, for us to not allow the Establishment to pick our candidates.

I don’t remember much of a fight over Roberts.

ALl I remember is some weird fake dance between Roberts and Obama at one of his State of the Union addresses, where Roberts took some phony stand of hating Obama.

Traitor.

If Grassley has evidence and witnesses that can completely clear Kavanaugh, and prove that the Dems, especially Feinstein, helped perpetrate a very ugly fraud, it would make perfect sense to get the accuser to lie under oath. That would trigger Dem/media proclamations of their undying support for her story and how all women must be believed without evidence. Then spring the trap, showing them to be either mendacious criminals or fools with terrible judgement. Next, call the confirmation vote on Kavanaugh, and for Feinstein’s resignation or removal from the Senate. Feinstein refuses to release the original letter because she is worried that this is exactly what awaits her.

Prediction: After foot-dragging a few more days, the accuser will either refuse to testify due to the Republican’s well-known unfairness to womyn, or Grassley will call a halt. Grassley’s many attempts to accommodate her will put that all on her, and make her look like a liar. Evidence of K’s innocence will emerge in alternative media, go unreported by “mainstream”, and the whole thing will end with a whimper. I’ve never been right before, but there’s always a first time.

Don’t want my first impression of Kavanaugh to get lost in the jumble of your weird criticisms:

I took one look at Kavanaugh and thought:

“Deep State Globalist Bush Plant To Give Them An Impeachment Vote Against Trump”.

Someone posted them last night. They seem to be inconsequential cases.

I read somewhere that the Supreme Court generally shies away from putting landmark cases on the docket while they only have eight members -- specifically to avoid a scenario where a major case ends up in a 4-4 deadlock.

I think Grassley lets this run all the way to Election Day ... and not out of incompetence or weakness, either.

This whole issue is completely removed from the Democrats as a political weapon as long as Christine Buzzy Ford stalls the process indefinitely. In fact, she's doing great damage to the Democrats as we sit here now.

VERY IMPORTANT POINT: If this process drags on and: (1) Ford doesn't show up to testify; (2) the confirmation vote is held up indefinitely until goobers like Flake and Corker can say "we must hear from her" ... Christine Buzzy Ford can't make any media appearances to tell her fake story in a venue that doesn't expose her to perjury charges.

Thanks! I suppose, though, if a case reaches SCOTUS, it’s a big enough deal to gore someone’s ox. Especially if that someone has some juice.

Maybe we ought to take a closer look at those cases. :-)
