The rubber is about to meet the road for Senate Republicans. They have a simple choice: they can vote to confirm Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, thereby ending the baseless and unsubstantiated Democrat- and media-fueled smear campaign against him, or they can kiss House and Senate majorities goodbye for the next decade, if not longer.

A refusal to vote to confirm Kavanaugh in the face of a blatantly obvious Democrat smear campaign, orchestrated in concert with a compliant and obscenely partisan national media, will be strike three, and there will be no more at-bats. I have spent a career working in and covering politics, and I have never witnessed the kind of anger among rank-and-file GOP voters generated from a combination of the unsubstantiated Democrat attacks on Kavanaugh and the flaccid response of emasculated Republicans.
The stakes of the current battle over Kavanaugh are far bigger than a single Supreme Court seat, and Republican voters understand this, even if their elected lawmakers don’t. It’s bigger than Roe v. Wade, Obamacare, or Second Amendment rights. Democrats are trying to turn the rule of law on its head, to destroy the presumption of innocence — not for themselves, mind you, but for anyone who dares to oppose their totalitarian political agenda.

Including holding your nose and voting for RINOs. I did that for McCain and Romney. And the Bush family that failed to even endorse Trump. Bush 41 said he was voting for Hillary.
The problem is that the RINOs won't vote for Conservatives. They would rather lose.

I don't disagree with you there. There will be hell to pay if they don't follow suit. My confidence lies with President Trump. He's playing a very strong hand. Kavanaugh will be confirmed. I have no doubt.

While I do understand the frustration with Republicans who aren’t doing their jobs, I don’t understand the thought of punishing them by sitting an election out.
The time to take them out is in the primary, not the general election.
Unfortunately there are a good number of Republicans who should not be in office. Compare that to the Democrats - all of whom are actively undermining this nation and its stated principles.
By sitting out an election we are playing right into the hands of those democrats who are actively undermining all that we stand for.
Sure, voting for a feckless Republican leaves much to be desired, but that (in my mind) beats the tar out of sitting by while this nation’s enemies act without even the slightest bit of interference.
I’m not sitting this one - or any other election - out. The consequences are far too severe for that. I’m angry too - at Republicans and Democrats. I sure as heck will not reward Democrats by punishing Republicans.
If Collins defects she should be booted from the caucus. If you vote with the Dems often enough on critical issues, then maybe you’re not a republican Susie.

Grassley doesn’t care, he isn”t up until 2020. I think Collins was just elected and Flake is retiring. Murkowski votes like a Democrat and isn”t up this year.
