Ok, the cynic in me says that Schumer will release Dems who are in red states to vote for Kavanaugh. Would he try the keep the seats or vote on principle? I think the former. What say you?

Someone else thinking along our line.
Schumer on way out. Good news but first I heard of it.
Kind of hard to understand how someone can be the Spawn of Satan one moment, okay to vote for the next. Kind of erodes one’s credibility, doesn’t it?
Ha ha you said credibility.
Yes, Schumer is all about power, and keeping these dems in power by whatever means necessary.
But otherwise, the guy sure screwed the pooch, didn’t he?
That might depress the lib vote in those states.
Im all for Rats being depressed. In fact I hope the Rats are so depressed that they off themselves.
Its really for the best.
Schumer was completely outfoxed and outmaneuvered.
He should go back to more productive tasks like trimming his yucky nose hair.
How can Nelson survive a No?
Why would Gillibrand replace Schumer as minority leader? I would think vile narcissists like Spartacus Jazz Hands or Kamala the Ho would lust for that position, would rip Gillibrands lungs out to get the position.
It would be worth a try since they’re going to lose the vote anyway. The problem is....its too late. The voters would see right through it.
I hope it costs Donnelly, McCaskill and Tester their jobs.
I think Schumer wants leftist power and so will release ( so- called) D senators to vote for the nominee. Otherwise those senators will almost all lose reelection. Schumer doesnt want that!!!
If anything, that will alienate their supporters in their states even more.
“The voters would see right through it.” I would like to think so, but I have some doubt about that. Voters tend to have very short memories especially when the constant urgent stories can be very distracting. The BK vote will be 7 or 8 stories old before November. With any luck the dems will stick their feet in their mouths a few times along the way.
He will try to create an illusion of opposition before he allows cover. I am wondering how many will vote “present” and not in favor or opposed.
This is going to become a huge issue across this country and the Democrats have played a fools game in opposing Kavanaugh. The Bernie Sanders wing of the party wants any excuse to oppose the party leadership and take them down. This is their excuse. Likewise this whole things has energized the Republican and Independent base that elected Trump to a huge extent.
The Democratic leadership has now energized Republicans and Independents against them and has energized the Sanders supporters against them. They have shot themselves not in the foot but the groan. Karma is a bitch!
Are we talking about Chuck.....or Amy?
It's too late because the red-state Democrats have already come out saying they'll vote no. Switching back now would only seem opportunistic, and would be an general indictment of how the Democrat party treats voting.
Secondly, Schumer would be discarding his last remaining card, a 50-49 vote if Montana Senator Steve Daines chooses to attend his daughter's wedding.
All it would take is for one weak Senator (Manchin? Flake?) to switch their vote overnight for Kavanaugh to lose, if Daines is not there to vote.
If Daines has to hurry back, Schumer can still bet on flight delays, mechanical failures, weather, to delay Daines' return to Washington.
At the very least, he can have the satisfaction of knowing he ruined the wedding of a Republican family.

A sure thing that Schmuck will do whatever is corrupt, Dirty, rotten, unamerican, sneaky, just like the skunk, gutter rat he is.
Whips usually move up to Leader (about 75% as I recall). So it’s Durbin if he wants it.
He must decide which path would be the least costly. I don't envy him but I am enjoying his dilemma.
