Trump 2020?
The Resurgent ^ | October 5, 2018 | Erick Erickson

Posted on 10/06/2018 3:14:03 PM PDT by Behind the Blue Wall

I have long been critical of Republicans who abandoned principles to stand with Trump and I am as critical of Republicans who abandon principles to oppose Trump. Principle should stay because people go. The Kavanaugh nomination has been clarifying in this regard. Seeing some conservatives willing to aid and abet character assassins because Trump nominated Kavanaugh is disgusting.

I find myself in an odd position where, for the first time, I see myself, one of the original so-called “Never Trump conservatives,” voting for President Trump in 2020. I have inevitably concluded at times that Trump would do something to push me away from him. He has not disappointed on that front from tariffs to character issues. But now I do not see how anyone else can offer a more compelling alternative to the President. Each time the President does something I do not like, his opponents play a game of “hold my beer.”

. . .

The political press has behaved as co-conspirators with the Democrats in the Kavanaugh matter. They have clearly been fully co-opted. Reporters are planting their flags with the so-called Resistance and donning pink hats instead of defending truth and reporting facts. There is much in this present political age about which I am uncertain. But there is one thing about which I am absolutely certain. President Trump is not my enemy and too many progressives view me as theirs.

I argued against Trump in the primaries, but always said I would certainly support him in the general and did.

He has been 1000 time better than I had hoped.

He will easily win reelection. The Democratic Party is absolutely bereft of exciting, capable or likeable candidates. They literally have NOBODY. Booker? Harris? Biden? Cuomo? That drooly Kennedy kid? Warren? Seriously, comically unappealing - the lot of them.

Whoever the next president is after Trump, he or she will be so incredibly boring it will be painful to watch. Like a bland folk singer taking the stage after The Who played three hours and left their instruments smashed all over the stage.

"I gave my love a cherry, that had no stone..."

No Erick the utter Moron. YOU abandon all principles to sell your mouth to the GOPE donor class. YOU abandon principals, not one person standing with Trump abandon any.

I figured the POTUS Apprentice Show would be fun for at least two years.

Now I say renew it for another 6 years.

Time to start grooming an actual apprentice.

It's tempting to repeal the 22nd Amendment and say Trump 2024.

We have here a long-time pundit of only marginal recognition to 2% of conservative voters who crapped in his nest and made himself worthless AND invisible.

Now he contorts, twists, pretzels and wiggles (all to avoid saying he was totally wrong) to try and get in on the obvious coming Trump win in 2020.

What a tool.

Let earse all the narcassictics bloviating and get to the real facts.

Erickson doesn’t like Trump. And like all ego driven infatile sub par intellects, his ERO determines what he thinks. He is one of the shallowest, room temperature intellects in the Media. But lake all narcissistic buffoons he thinks he the smartest one in the room.

If you ever listen to him, he is VERY careful to never actually talk to anyone who wants to debate his idiocies. He always make sure to keep his bubble world fully intact and allows no fact or reason that challenges his emotional dogmas entry.

There wasn’t any reasonable basis for it. Fact is, there’s a gravy train on each side of the aisle and those on the Republican side stood to lose their seat on it. I don’t think there was anything else to it, as evidenced by the fact that the entire #NeverTrump movement has close to zero impact in terms of actual votes.

You’re right about the dem candidates being a bunch of total losers. But the dems have two huge weapons that make them very dangerous. They control 95% of the media messaging. And they’ve perfected election fraud.

DemocRATS advocated "Guilty until Proven Innocent". The need to be punished for this at the Election this November.

Vote the B*stards OUT!

Which part of Trump’s agenda in 2016 was not conservative?

>> America First (of course not, GOPe are globalists)

>> Restrict Muslims from certain countries (GOPe considers Islam as a peaceful religion)

>> Ugly yuge Trade deficits (globalists have no problem with that, they are “free” traders which really means stupid traders)

>> Build the Wall (might offend Mexico!)

>> and a long list of other Trump agenda which the so called “real” conservatives opposed in 2016.

“I really don’t understand how people didn’t like Trump in the first place.”

Because they love the swamp which Trump had promised to drain. As simple as that.

He outed all the frauds(hillary voters) in the repubikan party. Unfortunately, it’s most of the congressmen and senators in D.C. I’m in the MAGA party now.

a certain brand of Republican. They view Trump as anathema to their values, so they have abandoned their values.

"Their values" appear to be limited to No tariffs for any reason and always speak politely to Satan's minions. Mainly I think their problem is really that he said impolite but effective things to their favorites in the Primaries. They feel that the Trumpian epithets apply to them by propinquity.

I wouldn’t vote for another GWBush. 16 years of Trumps just may stem the bleeding of what Obama voters did to America—Don jr. in 2024

easy to understand. The clinton, soros, Obama smear machine kicked in, calling him racist, mysoginistic, tax cheat (where’s your records), ant-immigrant. Some republicans didn’t;t like him because he personally insulted their favorite candidate. he lost the Bushes for instance when he emasculated Jeb on camera. I’m surprised the old man didn’t have his CIA friends whack him. Plenty to understand.
