Professor Jordan Peterson argued this weekend that Brett Kavanaugh should step down from the Supreme Court for a "less divisive" nominee to take his place, despite Petersons past advice to "never apologize to a mob."...The tweet came in response to a thread by former Evergreen State College Professor Bret Weinstein, who called Kavanaugh an "entitled punk."

Bullshit.
The "division" was entirely caused by Diane Feinstien and Chuck Schumer, entirely for political purposes.
Please remember that hie is a Canuck. As a yank who has lived in Ontario for most of my adult life, I can assure you that there are some fundamental differences between the two countries that one cannot appreciate unless one has studied and reflected on both closely.
I can assure Americans that his suggestion would make sense in the Canadian context. I can also assure Canadians that his suggestion does not make sense in the American context.
I can also assure Canadians that they, on average, spend too much time thinking about other countries—if Nations were a family, Canada would be an annoying big sister.
On the other hand,Americans need to be aware that there are other people who are North Americans, the North American countries are fairly closely linked, and the junior partners will necessarily spend much more time fretting about the senior partner than the senior partner the juniors. A comparison has been made to an elephant and mouse sleeping next to each other—slight changes will not affect the elephant much, but they may affect the mouse greatly.
Guilty people step down.
I was not a huge fan either way before
He wasnt being sarcastic. How many ways do you have to be told
This is disappointing on its face, but I can imagine its having been said within the context of mulling over various ways of dealing with the mob lynching of BK ‘issue’.
Hopefully he’ll receive enough ‘instructional’ email etc to revise and clarify over the next day or two.
I have completely ignored this clown because I knew he was a Trojan horse, and he just proved me right.
Good perspective. Bravo.
Thank you, FreedomPoster, for your well-reasoned plea to listen and not write Peterson off.
I, too, would like to continue to have his voice. We need him in the fight to stop the tyranny and Stalinists hidden in soy boys/pink hats all around us today.
And I said, if he wasn’t being sarcastic than he was wrong.
Okay, but why on earth should Kavanaugh resign after going through hell to get the Supreme Court job that he is eminently qualified for that he has been working towards all his life? That would be the worst decision ever. It would singlehandedly demoralize conservatives, hand a huge victory to the deranged, screaming far left crazies, energize the far left lunatics, give them even more reason to wage even nastier wars of personal destruction on Trumps next SCOTUS nominee and guarantee we lose the midterms. Its the single worst decision I can think of.
Very well said and 1000% correct.
It would be the worst decision ever made by a Supreme Court Judge (which Kavanaugh now is) in the entire history of the Court.
Which makes this advice the worst ever in the history of offering opinions to the court. Is there an award for Worst Advice Ever?
The pro-life female that replaces RBG will be the swing vote that will send Roe v. Wade right where it belongs, to the ash heap of history. It should have never been heard by the Supreme Court. Abortion is the purview of
the states.
Ping. This rather flies in the face of what Dr. Peterson so strongly “preaches”. What do you think, Rooster?
I think the practice of tweeting out an off the cuff opinion is idiocy.
Shows the person is not serious minded and enthralled with their own voice.
He shouldn’t, it was a gaffe as presented. And don’t write off JBP over one gaffe.
I'm not that familiar with Peterson other than watching some clips of him here & there. But up until this moment my impression of him was very favorable and that includes having first heard about this tweet a few days ago, for i was willing to give him a pass since as a Canadian it is understandable he might not have a deep understanding of American politics and how truly venomous the Democrat party is (doing what Peterson suggested would only embolden the Dems to continue smearing every nominee put forward). Plus he might not have been following the Kavanaugh hearings closely and so most of what he heard or read was likely heavily distorted by the liberal Canadian press.
But trying to shrug it off as a thought experiment lowers my opinion of him since it sounds like he's saying "i'm never wrong and i never say anything stupid, but if it ever appears that way then you can rest assured that it was simply a thought experiment." I mean it might be plausible if he had prefaced his statement with a "perhaps" or "maybe". That's what most people do when they are throwing something out there for consideration and are not necessarily signing off on it. But writing "Kavanaugh should step down" is certainly not an invitation for further input or thought on the part of the reader bur rather a definitive declaration brooking not dissent.
