FReeper Canteen ~ Sunday Chapel ~ PRAYER ~ 21 October 2018
Serving The Best Troops and Veterans In The World !! | The Canteen Crew

Posted on 10/20/2018 5:04:25 PM PDT by Kathy in Alaska

PRAYER

Dear Lord,

As we offer You thanks and praise, we realize how important it is to stay prepared for all the surprises in life. Daily, so many things catch us off guard, though they seem to happen over and over again. Would life be easier if we could begin the day with, "This is a drill. This is a drill"? Would we be any more prepared if there were drills for the many personal challenges we respond to daily?

Besides a "general quarters" for missile hits, we'd prepare to take hits for all the mistakes we're bound to make in the course of a day. In addition to handling major fuel oil leaks, we'd be trained to stop major gossip leaks before they have a chance to hurt our shipmates' reputations. With drills for day-to-day life scenarios, not only would we be prepared to fight "Class Charlie" fires, but through regular drilling we'd learn to extinguish classroom behavior which too often alienates those who are young and new to our crew.

Since we find ourselves in need of greater help, we call out to You, Lord, over the sound-powered phone of prayer. Surely Your throne is the Damage Control Central, where You plot our lives and note our dilemmas. We confess that we have crossed the secondary and even the primary boundaries You set to protect us. Therefore, we flee to Your repair locker for grace and mercy. Lord, patch us up, revive us, and restore us. Keep us fit to serve You with renewed strength and ready to take on each new day. In Your strong name we pray. Amen

CDR David D. Schilling, CHC, USN

I’m just afraid that going to the vet...should I be able to capture them....they are going to be so freaked out that they’ll be even wilder than they are now. One of them can’t be touched now. Sooo much like her/his dad. I don’t even know what sex that one is. The only one that I know is a boy is Stubbs. And he likes me. :)

If you catch the females, they’ll have a few days to get used to your attentions while they recuperate in the bathroom. That will calm them down quite a bit.
They might not get near the carrier again afterwards but at least they won’t burden you with more kittens. That’s the most important thing.

Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))

Did you and Gizmo make it out to the lake or was it too brisk for a jaunt?

I hope you’re right. I just hope they’re really hungry when I throw that food into the carrier. LOL! And that Li’l Bit doesn’t follow them into it. Oy! We’d have to tip it up and pull her out.

I’d better go. I just looked at the clock aaaaand tomorrow is Sunday. See ya tomorrow night?

It should help a bit at least. With them inside, you’ll be able to spend some quality time with them and that’s what they need.

You did stay up too late again, didn’t you? LOL I’m up later than I thought I’d be considering how early I had to get up. I’m not far behind ya.
Have a good day and I’ll catch ya tomorrow.

Yes, I’ll get to work up there periodically.

One project the guys will take care of is making room upstairs to hang more uniforms. I’ve already been told the crate of WWI uniforms will be the next one they get for me to work on. I’m sooooooo ready for that!

Glad to hear you had good weather for your outing. I was afraid it might have been too cold to want to venture out. It sounds like others took advantage of the nice day too. It won’t be long before it’s no fun getting out and about. BRRRR
