"She is a lawyer, he is an accountant"

My family immigrated from Cuba after the failure of the Bay of Pigs. My half brother was part of the invasion (paratroopers) and my family housed his platoon until they were captured and returned to the US.

My father was a lawyer in Cuba; they were not needed under Castro and communism. When we came to America he took a job at 7-11 since law does not "transfer" from one country to another. I was seven, the oldest of three boys, and he was 50.

We did not come here as economic refugees but as ideologic refugees. Of the initial group of Cuban immigrants fewer than 2% took public assistance. Many did rely on Churches and friends and family. I believe the Vietnamese immigrants also came without seeking welfare but freedom.

My heart feels for these people stuck in socialist controlled and dominated countries. We tried to fight for Cuba but recognized that if we did not leave after the invasion failed we would never get out. I give thanks to God and the US that my parents were able to come legally.

I wish there was something like a, "Marshall Plan" to help our southern hemisphere. China and Russia are there.

YOU make my point, much better. I like where your coming from. It’s about SOLVING the problem, not continuing in a policy of reacting. The Marshall Plan... hmmm. Great idea.

That’s what much more what I’m thinking. It is an arduous task over the course of coming years, going forward, for the USA to begin to engage the “socialist”/Communist front that is darn sure present there. It will always be a threat.

It is inarguable that the current run of hordes of invaders shall be STOPPED, but, looking to the future is my point, as well. I can promise that the USA will have to engage against the Communist influence, in the Americas. What do we want to do?

Either, with war guns, or with education and missionaries? The USA can not sit on its snooty laurels and ignore a rising threat of the enemy in the Americas.

Leaving a vacuum down there is an invitation to trouble.

It’s not about our ‘feeling’ or not for the people. It’s about hoards coming in mass with the expectations our Government should take care of them.

Every immigrant who comes here legally has a story. I’ve heard many. Ad they all say they will work until they find they can work the system and do better not working.

We just got millions off the free ride so does that give masses the green light now that it’s their turn ?

It would stop if they weren’t awarded all the free stuff.

Immigration itself isn’t bad. It’s the drain on financial resources and the ideology they come with now. They come not understanding our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Frankly, it’s the democrat/socialist/marxist ideology the majority of immigrants, illegal and legal, seem to embrace.
