Insufficient bribery, I suppose.
Wouldn’t be so bad if somebody poured bleach on their power to do stupid things.
That is so disgusting to me.
Who would eat food that has been “bleached?”
State bureaucracy must justify its existence.
I don’t have a problem with this, although the bleach part may be over the top.
Do you think that bacteria don’t grow on food that’s meant for the homeless?
Do you think that the good intentions of the preparers/servers count towards cleanliness?
Nobody, and that’s the point. They intentionally ruined the food so it could not be eaten................
Starvation is much more preferable than a tiny chance of food poisoning.
"Starvation is Aideed's evil tool..."
So give them no food and they will end up in the morgue.
Officials won’t get in trouble if people starve, but if they set sick they might.
What a bunch of idiots.
Also, sarcasm aside, consider that many Leftists do not want charity to compete with them for helping people.

It is sad but true that home-prepared food is frightening. 20+ years ago the California State nixed pot lucks due to people getting food poisoning.
I see why this decision was reached, even if it makes no sens to some. You have to picture MANY people, and some of those who don’t know about cross-contamination.
I know a couple that cooks food in their church kitchen for needy people in Detroit.
They go to an empty lot and serve it from the back of a truck. Lot of people show up with little kids.
Recall that during the nanny state reign of Michael Bloomberg as mayor of NYC, his health department ended food donations to homeless shelters because they were concerned about salt and fat content.
“This in the news: whole populations are disappearing as time traveling officials are destroying unsafe food in past centuries. We’re reporting this before the time ripples catch up with us- ... wow, who would have thought that the human population would EVER reach 20 million people world wide? Back to you Kent.”
It might of made sense if there’s a legit question as to how safe the food was, where it came from, his was it handled, how old it was, etc. My lovely wife and I volunteer for the Red Cross. We have helped at the emergency shelters set up to help potential storm and flood victims and we regularly attend meetings making sure we’re aware of the proper food handling procedures and the latest safety regs.
They poured the bleach into the food to destroy it and render it inedible. They were not trying to make it safe.
