Hundreds of residents of the Mexican border city of Tijuana protest the thousands of Central American migrants who have arrived in the hope of starting a new life in the US. On Sunday, local residents waved Mexican flags, sang the national anthem and chanted 'Out! Out!'
At one point, police formed a barrier between the Central American migrants and protesting locals. Protesters have called the migrant caravan an 'invasion' and are accusing the migrants of being messy, ungrateful and a danger to Tijuana. They are concerned Mexican taxes might be spent to care for the group as they wait, possibly months, to apply for asylum in the US

I have some Mexican friends in Tijuana and their Facebook pages are full of this stuff. The invasion force is trashing everywhere they go, leaving donated clothes and garbage all over the place. This anti-invasion force sentiment is pretty widespread in Tijuana. There is plenty of poverty there already without all of these people showing up taxing the already thin resources.

Futbol = soccer. Mexican attitude of superiority towards other teams within the CONCACAF. To be fair, Mexico backs it up, but it is a deep cultural issue of national pride. Honduras and El Salvador went to war in 1969 when a soccer game exacerbated tensions between the two.
Ha. Our neighbors to the South will routinely argue over which Mexican State is the best. Often results in bloodshed in SoCal dining establishments catering to them.
Could be that the Mexicans are also figuring out that the invasion force is quickly building a reason to build the wall and close the borders entirely. That would kill their longstanding pathway to the golden goose.
Thousands bottlenecked in Tijuana is unsustainable. Tijuana doesn’t have the resources to take care of them for long. The locals don’t want them. Lol
The cartels will tell the Mexican government to close down the southern border.
Trump’s plan is working as long as he sticks to his guns.. They are frustrated and discouraged and only a comparably few are being processed. Mexico is being given a dose of it’s own medicine. Lol
The 1969 Soccer War contributed to the El Salvadorian Civil War, which caused El Salvadorians to flee to California. Then, many El Salvadorians were jailed in California prison system without protection (the Mexican gangs of La Familia/Surenos/Nortenos would not protect them), so they formed their own gangs. MS-13 and 18 were formed.
Same dynamic in Houston TX and the formation of Tango Blast. All rejected non-Mexican latinos formed their own gang and became the most powerful Houston gang.

With a crowd that big and growing, they will start dying of natural causes.
I think most Americans view Latinos as a single group. Trust me when I say that that is not how Latinos see things. Mexicans are very aware that Salvadorans, Hondurans, & Nicaraguans are not the same as them. Although they all speak Spanish to our ears, to theirs, the accents are very noticeable. They are not overtly fond of one another.
This could get messy.
