I don’t do any social networking or social media. I have a life. Right here on Free Republic.

;^)

Anyway, tell me more. Is avoiding social media what they mean by `going dark’, John Galt & that sort of thing?

In many political circles, psychologists are taking the center stage when they say that by not having a social media presence, one is socially unstable.

In other words, A dangerous sociopath. Hermitism has been long considered a mental disorder as mainstream psychology recognizes that humans need social interaction.

Either way, Those in NYS like to say that these things aren’t their fault. That it’s the lower city doing insane things. But that’s like a 250 muscle-bound guy being bullied by 2 8 year old girls. I don’t buy it.

NYers, as I saw Connecticuteurs do, will line up to conform with zeal and crocodile tears. I won’t be part of such a culture and I take comfort in knowing that they don’t like or agree with me.

Many good states are being taken for a ride by two 8 year old girls when the natives are the strongest people ever created. Texas, Pennsylvania, Colorado, and even Arkansas.

Arkansas mystifies me. I’m moving there in a few months and will be concentrating on a few ideas to bring the RKBA issue to the center stage.

It’s really time that people stood up for what is right. And I mean stood up for it.

My father-in-law was an intelligence officer in the 82nd Airborne. He went to school at Ft Drum.

He was an electrical engineer.

When he served his duty in the Army he was in the weapons industry for 40 years.

"..when police run the license plate or the driver’s license they will know if the owner has CCW.."

NOPE! Not in this County!!!

The Sheriff's office doesn't share that info with ANYBODY!!

(That policy isn't dependent on who holds the office)

At some point, the SCOTUS needs to set clear guidelines restricting the ability of local authorities to incrementally gut the Second Amendment.

This new maneuver clearly abridged BOTH the First and Second Amendments.

ONLY the Federal Government should be permitted to interpret the First and Second Amendments. Local jurisdictions should NOT be permitted to restrict Second Amendment Rights in any way.

Only regulations designed to keep heavy military ordinance
out of civilian hands, OR designed to keep firearms out of the hands of DANGEROUSLY mentally impaired, terrorist or criMina persons should be allowed.

Anything else is merely a contrivance to destroy the Second Amendment and disarm the citizenry.

What don’t they understand about “shall not infringe?” Even a BI is illegal. I can understand gun safety and mental illness but if our Forefathers didn’t include it, then who the (*^&^ are the rats to decide?

“FR and DU are also social media. Total violation of First Amendment rights.”

I’ve never thought of FR as social media. I think of it as News Aggregation. I don’t personally know anybody on here as far as I am aware and I don’t want to socialize with some of the crazies.

So what’s the definition of “social media”? What’s the common definition and more importantly, what’s the legal definition?

If FR is social media because of the comments, what about the comments section of newspapers and magazines, both hard copy and online? Will that make them social media, if they aren’t already?

How are they going to get search history? What about those who don’t keep search history? If I have to develop one, it’s not going to contain anything they won’t like.

To me the request is no different than if years ago your telephone calling, newspaper & magazine subscription, and TV viewing history - the social contact history of the day - was demanded in order to get a gun.

Well, there is this problem.

I’m pro-gun-rights. But, every time there’s a shooting, in response to the predictable “ban them” screams from the left, there’s the pro-gun response about enforcing the laws, but also about keeping guns from the truly crazy as well as the criminal.

How is that “crazy assessment” going to work in practice? Is it going to be “hermitism”, or consumption of prescribed anti-depressants, or a one-sentence accusation by a domestic ex-partner?

It’s a serious question that I don’t have an answer to, except to have the ability to be armed myself.

It’s already done in th Fusion centers. Not sure how often or how masked, but it happens.

I the police, FBI, DOJ, NSA, or DOD have the ability, it is used.

In the military there are many rules that are followed. The non-military agencies? Who knows.

“You must be a minority to bring a discrimination charge”

That’s racist. Minorities have just as much right and ability to discriminate as majorities.
