Yes! And I just found out that in that crash, he, the pilot, was the only one to put on a ‘chute and escape. He let his entire crew go down to their death. Isn’t the captain supposed to go down with his ship and his men?

During WWII, dive bomber crew were required to wear parachutes while flying.
That included the Gunner. If the Gunner didn’t wear one, it was his problem.
