California Assemblyman Marc Levine (D) has proposed a new gun control measure: taxing the sale of semi-automatic firearms and using the money to support gun violence prevention programs, The Sacramento Bee reported. The proposal was a direct result of the shooting at the Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks.
The goal is fewer gun deaths, Levine said in a statement. The gun tax will support the kind of interventions that make gun violence less likely in the first place, which is exactly what we need to do.
Should the bill pass, the money would go to the California Violence Intervention and Prevention Program, which is overseen by the Board of State and Community Corrections. The BSCC then uses the money to send various grants to cities and community-based organizations.
Last year, the program gave $8 million to communities ravaged by gun violence, The Los Angeles Times reported.

The remaining Americans still in Mexifornia need to escape while they can.
No matter what the law or regulation, it’s always...
We just want to pass some ‘common sense’ gun laws.
The left never defines common sense.
interventions that make gun violence less likely in the first place,
...he’d be better off clicking his heels together and blinking his eyes..
*click click*..*blink blink*....????

Yeah, and 98% of it went right into people's pockets, with the other 2% used to make it look like they're 'doing something'.
The goal is fewer gun deaths, ................. and the need for more Taxes to support the politicians road to wealth.
Mexipornians can learn from the French.
Liberals have homes and offices.
It is your privilege and our pleasure that you pay your fair share of taxes, comrade!
Let’s tax all of our God given rights. How about a poll tax too?

“The goal is fewer gun deaths”
Liar. The goal is more tyranny and more tax dollars for you to spend and play with.
My inlaws were the last of their clan to leave. (Paternal and maternal family have already fled CA, having first come in the Civil War and Gold Rush). All gone. They fled to CDA, ID, where we counted his gun collection and magazines. He faced over 1,000 years in a CA prison if he had stayed due to his modest gun collection.
There is no escape just temporary reprieves. Dont pay the tax.
I remember 1982, when Prop 15 was to be voted on by the public. the purpose was to register all handguns and ban new ones in the state of California.
It was guaranteed to pass! The night before the vote CBS even had a full hour about Prop 15 to try and influence the voters to pass it. Handgun Control Inc was popping the champagne bottles in view of a success!
BOOM! The voters rejected it outright. Since that time the politicians of Cali have worked overtime to find other ways to ban guns, one little reason at a time if possible.
Time to tax socialism. A sensible socialism tax. A common sense socialism tax. For the children.
And so that the tax can be fairly levied, socialists will need to be registered with their county, state and the federal government. With the strict promise that that registry will never be used for anything else.
“The remaining Americans still in Mexifornia need to escape while they can.”
That’s why Denver is now LA East.
They never do. Or, for that matter “fair share.” There’s a good reason for this.
It’s interesting, and not at all surprising, that so many of these “common sense” gun laws involve collecting money for the democrat party.
