Magic mushrooms may soon be legal in Oregon
nypost.com/ ^ | 12/4/18 | Natalie O'Neill

“Magic mushrooms” may soon become legal in Oregon, where even powerful politicians seem high — on the idea, according to a report.

The state’s attorney general green-lit language allowing the bill to hit the ballots in 2020, assuming advocates get enough signatures, according to Oregonlive.com

If it passes, the initiative would decriminalize hallucinogenic mushrooms and allow them to be manufactured with a license. Oregon would become the first US state to legalize the drug.

The bill will need 140,000 signatures in order to appear on the ballots in the 2020 general election, the paper reported.

Nationwide, possession of psychedelic mushrooms — and their active compound, psilocybin — is a felony. But advocates say the trippy treat can help boost spirituality, fight depression and even help terminally ill patients cope with death.

“The intent of the 2020 Psilocybin Service Initiative of Oregon is to advance a breakthrough therapeutic model currently being perfected in research settings at top universities around the world,” Tom and Sheri Eckert, who are leading the petition, wrote on the campaign’s website.

Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum declined to comment to the paper.

Similar. Dropped acid maybe...12(?) times. Mushrooms a handful (hah). Many psycodelics are, and have been, used by lots of religions, including several native american tribes (peyote). Throughout history, supervised, deeply ceremonial use is well documented. Ram Daas...

Done right, it can be life changing, for the better. I’m proof.

Now, the harder core stuff is simply different. Opiod abuse is horrible, and certain pharmaceutical companies (one in particlar) have loosed a monster. Sure, good for pain for some people, but the addictive properties are insanely powerful. Legal opiods lead to heroin, fentanyl...death. Meth can be used by military, but again, so addictive as to be another monster let loose.

But mushrooms? Jeeze. The ignorance of these types of psycodelics shown right here on this thread is typical. People need to do research, talk to people with knowledge and experience, but their minds are closed, period.

I agree and will go along with them being legal as long as someone gene splices the rooms to the swine flu.

“In 1915, Coca-Cola contained actual cocaine.”

Not really.

Coca Cola company says it never had cocaine in it, and most other sources say that in 1903/1904 Coca Cola was using “spent” coca leaves that only had trace amounts of cocaine left in them. So it was basically gone around 1903-1904.

However, back in the misty beginnings of Coca Cola in the late 1800’s, it likely did have a small dose of cocaine in every glass.

DMT is an hallucinogen. In the ‘60’s, it was referred to as a “business man’s trip” because the psychedelic effects lasted less than an hour. So you could trip on your lunch hour and get back to work relatively straight for the rest of your work day. As opposed to an acid or STP trip which could last from 6 to 24 hours depending on the dosage and the chemistry. The U.S.S. Enterprise caught fire in January of 1969 off the coast of Hawaii and many were killed and the ship put out of commission for a long time. After she was fixed, I ran into some of its crew in Subic on liberty and one of them told me that at the time of the incident there were 50 guys tripping on acid who all congregated somewhere in the bowels of the engineering spaces. Weird stuff.

Big Beautiful Snowflakes,,, Interesting.

____________

Oh yes.

The temperature was right around freezing, no breeze whatsoever, and no colliding temperatures in the atmosphere up above which would ruin things and create ice or freezing rain.

It was early February, after dark, no moon, and what a beautiful night.

The individual flakes were very big, and they were also connecting to each other on the way down to make them appear even bigger. The light from those old late 1960's inner-city street lights flowed into and through those flakes and voila ...... lots of quiet subtle colors.

*******

"Big Beautiful Snowflakes .... Interesting" ---- yes.

LMAO

No one told you to "shut up". I simply wrote, "You needn't go on any further." Can you understand the difference?

Not bragging, but you're talking to someone who hasn't taken a recreational drug since the 80's, and to a person with an I.Q. probably around 50 points higher than you may have displayed over the years.

ps --- You can save your repeated "dope" remarks for your family.

Or conversely, just spike the ballot counter's meal with a couple of 'shrooms and suggest the three signatures presented are actually 150k signatures.....

People have been eating magic mushrooms since caveman times. Heck if I were a caveman I'd be wasted all the time!

Got 'em growing wild in the cow pastures on Maui. Coming out of the patties after the rain and humidity are just right. Just gotta take a little stroll...

GOD .................. I love hearing from people who understand. THANK YOU!

As you and I know .... the knee-jerk ignorance from so many here (and elsewhere) is truly alarming and sad. They don't have the facts, yet they NEVER listen and learn.

Oh well.

I knew if I posted this Oregon story we'd read ignorant post after ignorant post.

On LSD threads that I've seen and been part of over the years (I was here for ten years before I became 'a little elbow grease') ..... I have noticed that about 60 to 75 percent of the replies are from people who are ignorant of the facts. -- (I did not say 'stupid', I said 'ignorant'.)

Nevertheless, hopefully, the threads serve as a learning experience for a few.

To paraphrase Butch Cassidy:

"What happened to the old threads/banks........ people kept ruining them/people kept robbing them."

Reads as written by a deceiver who fully knows the depravity of their lonely vice and desperately seeks company into their oblivion.

Psychodelic drugs are forbidden in Scripture for believers, (PHARMAKEIA, Gal 5:20; Rev 21:8; Rev 9:21) and also associated with witchcraft.

Reports from those who have taken such drugs are consistent with spiritual deception, “seeing into a spiritual domain”, but without a Divinely regenerated human spirit, therefore exposed to wicked deception in the spiritual realm. Many such deceptions will appear to be friendly spirits, but have also been reported as deceivers and enemies of any human in fellowship with God through faith in Christ and what He provided at the Cross.

It should be noted that “psychosis” is limited to the soul, whereas the drugs reportedly allow temporary admittance into the PNEUMA or spirit, which is discernible from the soul. Those who seek the truth, will report these both, while those who seek to deceive will attempt to write up the spiritual domain as a tangent to the soulish.

LOL ..... we never had any cows here on our property, but there are many deer. Do these 'shrooms also grow in deer pellet/crap?

We always have a few piles of deer poop in our side yard (they have a trail over there).

Thirty to forty year ago in the summer here we almost tried some of the mushrooms growing out of that poop. But, we backed off and bought some from a friend at Carnegie Mellon University (Carnegie Tech back when I was young).

;-)
