California Democrat Ted Lieu bemoaned on Wednesday that though he would love to be able to regulate the content of speech, including that on Fox News, he cant do it because of the U.S. Constitution.
Lieu made the comments during an interview about the testimony of Google CEO Sundar Pichai at a House Judiciary Committee hearing, where he dismissed the allegations that the tech giant amplifies negative stories about Republican lawmakers, saying if you want positive search results, do positive things."
CNN host Brianna Keilar praised Lieu for his performance but asked whether other Democrats should have used the committee to press Google on conspiracy theories that spread on their platforms.
It's a very good point you make. I would love if I could have more than five minutes to question witnesses. Unfortunately, I don't get that opportunity, Lieu said of the committee hearings.

Lieu is one creepy little SOB. He loves putting his foot in his big mouth.
The Enemy Within
Goebbels believed in regulating speech. Where’s the pic of that little clubfoot? Or a pic of Lieu will do.
Both are fascist pigs.
Looks to me like Google, Facebook, Instagram, etc etc are already doing that for him.
We could eliminate free speech....but that would be wrong...where have I heard something like that before?
May God have mercy on Mr. Lieu’s soul. That boy is very twisted.
Typical lib went and said what he really thinks. Sig Heil, zipperhead.
In lieu of Lieu California needs someone that understands why the bill of rights was written.
Regulate your own Lieu.
Shut the —— up!
Before it happens...Lieu can go die.
Except his and the Democrats - they’d be exempt and made part of their retirement package.
You’re welcome to try and shut me up Ted, but you better pack your breakfast, lunch and dinner. Little leftist pigs don’t get to decide what we can say in America.
It is us they want to eliminate. Hitler only killed an estimated 6 million of the Jewish. Liberals want to eliminate 125 million conservatives .
Start with regulating your own speech Teddy.
He loves getting in the news. He is “my” Congress-critter and lives on the street behind me. He really needs the job, and the future earning opportunities it brings. If not, he would just be a city or state government attorney with a mediocre income and no fame.
Back in the day I could never understand how 6 million Jews could be sent to camps, gassed to death and then incinerated, nor could I fathom what sort of people would do such a thing
I certainly never believed it could ever happen here
These days, I now completely understand part about who could do such a thing, Im beginning to see the how it could happen and I am completely disabused of the naive notion that it could never happen here - or that it would be limited to Jewish people this time around
The demonizing and dehumanization of the intended targets is already under way and well along
Inside every progressive is a totalitarian screaming to get out.
I understand his point, I would like to stuff a dirty sock in that pie hole
Back in the day, I would never have expected that 5.5 million "gentiles" could be sent to camps, gassed to death, incinerated, and then written out of history ... but leftists lying for multiple generations can certainly make progress at erasing history just like they erase people.
or that it would be limited to Jewish people this time around
IT WASN'T LIMITED TO JEWISH PEOPLE THE FIRST TIME.
Please!!
As Constitutionalists and so-called "conservatives," we must choose our battles carefully and judiciously if we are to create credible awareness of, and attachment to, the Constitutional principles we love and promote every day!
"Progressive regressives" are, every day, violating and perverting those principles underlying the Constitution, but, if one reads Lieu carefully, this statement does not deserve all the blowback he's getting, IMHO, because he does, in fact, recognize the boundary set out by the Constitution: most Progressives do not do so.
