I read Preston & Child also. I’ve just about finished Full Wolf Moon by Lincoln Child. It’s a creepy werewolf story.

I like some Clive Cussler books such as Vixen 03, Raise The Titanic.

Those were the last ones I probably read.

As Churchill said (there are attributions to John Adams and Clemenceau on this quote), "those who are not liberals in the twenties have no heart and those who are not conservatives in their forties have no head."

If you think King only vomits words, you are an idiot...neither liberal nor conservative.

Stories are important in explaining who we are.

Even the bad ones speak to someone.

What the f#ck have you done to explain to our people who they are?

You are a big-mouth armchair quarterback.

I read that a while back too. The last Pendergast novel I read was "City of Endless Night." I've still got to read "The Pharaoh Key", the final book in the Gideon Crew series. I've pre-ordered the latest Pendergast novel "Verses for the Dead" which is being released on 12/31. I think your the first person I've run across on FR that reads Preston & Child.

So much for democracy. Don’t like the guy voters elected? Remove him and put in someone YOU like. To Hell with the other guy and his views.

He's a writer dumbass.

We conservatives don't demand that everyone is a frikken conservative.

That's what the Liberals do.

Writers are a different breed altogether.

Do we outlaw writers because of their stupid politics.

That's what liberals do.

But at least The Stand movie followed the book. Wasn’t a thin book, either... :)

For a lengthy book, the TV mini-series did follow the book, but the book was definitely better. But that's the way it usually is. It's rare that a movie or mini-series does credit to the book its based on.

Uh, Stephen...we voted for Trump because of the policies he promised, and has carried out.

I know it's tough for a RAT to imagine that not everyone is politically motivated...RATs have no other frame of reference.

I enjoyed watching it, it was like reading the book live. That’s a weird way to put it, but it fits... And as a fan of the book (read it in 1980) t’was fun.

100% correct!
Steven King stopped writing anything readable about 40 years ago.
Cussler had the only male main characters who could be shot 35 times, get blown up with 40 pounds of C-4, be on ground zero of a 20 kiloton nuclear blast, be frozen in a block of ice, and swim to the surface from the bottom of the Marianas Trench while holding his breath.
And feel good enough to get laid in the end.
I read science fiction and Cussler was to far out even for me.

Mr. King, have you ran out of old Twlight Zone shows to redo into books? Stray not into politics in less you want to run for office yourself. How about a book about an evil president who is cursed by ghosts and goes mad? Stick to your Stories, Sir.
