These people are idiots. Everyone knows that even the people getting a forced vacation are going to be paid. Is it slavery if your employer only pays you every 2 weeks? By this moron’s “logic” it is.

No. Just someone who appreciates that for most people in our nation getting paid for work you have done is sometimes delayed. Right now, from what I have read, today is when you would get paid normally if you chose direct deposit. So as of now you haven't suffered any delay in payment at all. As of tomorrow, well, you will have waited an extra day. If it turns out it takes a couple more weeks before the Democrats do the right thing and fund the border wall, then you will have had to wait for a couple of weeks for your paycheck.

Using a generous interest rate of 12% per year, way more than you can probably get from investing your money in the bank, you are suffering an economic loss of about .5 to 1% of your delayed salary. If, like many government employees you are well paid, that amount is .5 to 1% of something around $5,000. So the payroll delay due to the shutdown is costing you from $25 to $50.00.

Aren't you willing to in effect donate $50.00 to securing our southern border? If you aren't then that is OK, but you can't expect the rest of us to have much sympathy for your situation.

So prepare to be constantly annoyed. I don't think you grasp the gist of a FReeRepublic. Take up a skill and find real work.

Cute. You have no idea who I am, what my background is, or what I do for a living, but you imply I am unskilled and underutilized. That speaks more about you than it does about me.

As for understanding what Free Republic is, I've been around since 2002. I'm not some newbie you can bully.

Since the percentage of blacks in government employment is higher than their overall percentage of the population, slavery had to be mentioned. < /sarc >

If you are all you claim you should be spending your efforts looking for work. Even if you do get called back you will gain your back pay plus whatever you gain from working in the private sector while you wait. You could surely find something more gainful than spending your vacay typing on FReeRepublic.com.

I was referring to a FRee Republic, not FReeRepublic.com. If our FRee Republic existed as designed you would not have been furloughed because you would have never been hired to begin with. The whole non-essential employee of government is a total farce. The truth of a matter is not bullying. Sorry for the confusion. Carry on!

Wow. I will waste no further time arguing with you.

Let’s agree to disagree, shall we?

Just a side note, I don’t have to look for work because I’ve managed my finances well. By the time this furlough is over I’ll have the cleanest house on the block.
