Schick’s blades don’t do a very good job.
I was satisfied with the performance of Harry’s, until they decided to start sending portions of their sales to pervert causes. When I let them know that I disapproved, they suggested that they knew better than I, and that I should understand. I am now on my last Harrys’s cartridge, and it will not be replaced.
I may try “Dollar Shave Club” next. I DO have a stash of 40 1985 vintage Gillette Microtracs (my favorite disposable, no longer manufatured), but I was hoping to keep them as an heirloom. I keep one in action to get the part under my nose that no five blade job can handle.
Barbasol now has a line of disposables, but as they have traditionally been an economy brand, I don’t expect much from them.

“Old fashioned” double edge blades have improved, and are cheap. I got 100 platinum blades for under $20 and they shave better than the 5 blade wonders.

Here’s what I wrote to a woman on Facebook who was wondering why the video was getting so much hate on YouTube.
“First of all, I think the reaction comes from the general cynicism people have about companies appearing to lecture their customers or tapping into social causes for marketing gain (a la the major blowback that Pepsi got for one of the Jenners doing a social justice ad).
Secondly, I think there is a presumption of guilt in the message itself that does not sit well with many of us men. Yes there are very many bad actors among men unfortunately and they deserve all ill that befalls them. However, this video seems to insinuate that it’s pervasive among the male culture.
That’s a pretty broad sweep. I would think most of us men hold ourselves to a higher view than that and we do not like to be condemned to guilt by association, especially by a company that gauges consumers for a bit of steel and plastic.
I would have preferred P&G make huge donations to women’s causes such as women’s shelters instead of spending the money on digital marketing campaigns.”
So basically if you buy Gillette, you’re into self-hating S&M.

Good afternoon,
I have been buy Harry’s products for a couple of years, and for the most part, find them to fill my needs at a reasonable cost. I was gratified to find them at the Wal-Mart, thinking I would no longer have to mail order Harry’s products.
One thing I do NOT like is when the vendors of my everyday consumer products decide to engage in the culture wars by embracing homosexualist promotion. Now I find that Harry’s is associating with these by having a special shaving offer for such promotion, and donating to associated causes. You didn’t have to pick a side, but since you picked the side that is opposed to Western Civilization, you won’t find me buying your product.
It’s a shame you couldn’t be satisfied with making and selling a good razor at a fair price.
