Good luck getting a long-term employee off the payroll in a RIF.

The way they work is—the newest hires are laid off first.

She can do what I did when I first incurred a mortgage without employment. I put several months payments on a charge card.

I hope it really is the last straw and we can all quit overpaying for this woman’s existence. She should get out into the real world and quit living off the taxpayers. Obviously the job she has is unnecessary.

Doesn’t Tricare cover insulin?

My guess is that the mortgage companies are working with furloughed employees. Sometimes they will roll the payment onto the back of the loan and let you skip a month.

I call BS. Feds have the best prescription drug coverage out there, and mortgage lenders are working with those who need some leeway.

I’m growing weary of all the sob stories.

Insulin is a racket... they have jacked the prices up to insane...

The same with a lot of medications. Cheap and easy to manufacture and no competition (Yes, it's legal to pay other manufacturers to NOT make your little money maker). They are free to charge what they want. No, it's not capitalism it's a monopoly and fraud scheme.

If she will stop eating carbs and eat a healthy diabetic diet she will not need insulin. Cut out the pastries, chips and ice cream and she will have the money to pay her mortgage.

EXACTLY. Even if she started 38 years ago at minimum wage, just getting the COI increases, she’s probably earning more than twice if the private sector average salary, not to mention the benefits.

If she will stop eating carbs

That's true with Type 2 diabetes but not Type 1.

Where’s her savings and where are her grown children’s room and board payments for living with her.

Too many people live paycheck to paycheck expecting life to go on as it always has.

Her lack of planning and foresight is her own doing.

No kidding! She’s also been employed for 38 years and she doesn’t have any savings? How about a credit card? Sounds like she took out a bigger mortgage than she could afford. I didn’t see this level of concern for all the coal miners who lost their jobs because of Obama.
