NCAA Champion Hits Back at Media for Criticizing Trump's Big Mac Buffet
Townhall.com ^ | January 16, 2019 | Cortney O'Brien

It wasn't the media's finest moment. On Tuesday, the press was up in arms over President Trump's decision to offer up a fast food smorgasbord for the NCAA champions the Clemson Tigers when the team visited the White House Monday night. Some angry reporters accused Trump of disrespecting both the athletes and the presidency with the choice in delicacy.

Lord help us some reporters even fact checked the president over how many burgers he really served and how much it all cost. Trump previously tweeted that he paid for the burgers himself.

So... how much did all that food actually cost?

Despite all the outrage, as anyone could see the players rather enjoyed themselves, especially offensive lineman Matt Bockhorst.

I am a lover, not a fighter. https://t.co/0VCIBbM28k— Matt Bockhorst (@MattBockhorst) January 15, 2019

Still, critics on social media suggested that the players deserved better. One person lamented that all Bockhurst had to show for his efforts on the field was CTE, a brain condition that can develop after repeated blows to the head, and a Big Mac. Again, Bockhorst offered a respectful smackdown.

And a scholarship, a stipend, an education, a head coach that cares and last but not least, a National Championship Ring ???? Goodnight Twitter https://t.co/xkkFIg8Dp6— Matt Bockhorst (@MattBockhorst) January 15, 2019

Bockhorst gained plenty of fans after his string of harmless and clever tweets, some praising him as a "class act" or a man of "great character." Nearly everyone loved his sense of humor.

Who knows what the press were expecting. A gourmet meal perhaps? Hot towels and valet parking? These are growing young men. I suspect they were happy with greasy burgers.

The Clemson Tigers defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide last week in the College Football Playoff championship game by a score of 44-16. Eat your heart out, boys!

The media are such idiots sometimes.

The Washington Post fact checked Trump’s statement that they had a mile-high stack of burgers.

Some idiot reporter wrote that at an average of 2 inches high, that the quantity of burgers would have been nowhere near a mile high.

Are reporters really such idiots, to do a fact check on an off hand statement that they had a mile-high stack of burgers?? Is it really really important, in fact checking Trump, to determine how many burgers it takes to make a mile-high stack of? Do these people have too much time on their hands or what? How the heck do people with such inane reasoning ability, get jobs as reporters for major newspapers?

It used to be that Trump overwhelmed the news cycle with distraction. It worked so well, that now the press does it on their own. Alinsky was a piker.

From the fox piece:

The quote he denied saying was: “President Trump got all our favorite foods. It was the best meal we ever had. Then we go and see the coastal elite media trashing it for not being organic vegan. We’re football players, not bloggers. This was a perfect blue-collar party.”

https://www.foxnews.com/sports/clemson-quarterback-trevor-lawrence-says-white-house-quote-is-fake-i-never-said-this-by-the-way

In any case, the young man enjoyed himself.

Anyone who thinks these guys would favor a big sitdown with 12 pieces of silverware is nuts.

But knowing Trump, he will ask them back after the government opens and let THEM pick the menu. That's the way the President is.

Trump’s “first and second lady making salads” quip was NO accident. He knows how to push mediatard buttons! Trump is Lucy with the football (pun intended)... and the media/DemWits (but I repeat myself) are Charlie Brown. Hillaryarius!!!

From the article: “Who knows what the press were expecting. A gourmet meal perhaps? Hot towels and valet parking? These are growing young men. I suspect they were happy with greasy burgers.”

Imagine sitting with this President having a good visit, while munching on a delicious cheeseburger from one of several popular burger restaurants.

Just being in the room sitting with the President of the United States DJT having a good chat would be sufficient to make a lifelong memory.

Reminded me of the 7-course Polish banquet: a 6-pack and a sausage.

Enjoed ‘em many times; still do.

You know why Trump did this. So that people can bring up the fact that Obama spent $65,000 on hot dogs and pizza from Chicago.

Yeah, and I'm sure they were really hot dogs and pizza, and not the slang that's in the FBI pedophile manual.

Some woman on CNN was offended by him.talking about the first lady making salads.

She said, does Trump want to drive all women voters out of the Republican party?

These media elites are such idiots, that they think Republican women are outraged that he jokes that the first lady could have made salads.

The media reaction to minor events and offhand remarks, as reflecting some hatred of (fill in the blank grievance group) are really stupid sometimes.
