New Jersey became the No. 1 state to move away from in 2018, according to new data from moving and relocation company United Vans Lines.
The top reason why residents left was for a professional opportunity, the UVL data shows. Of all the residents who moved out, 46 percent listed "job" as the deciding factor.
"A leading motivation behind these migration patterns across all regions," in fact, "is a career change," the report says. About "one out of every two people who moved in the past year moved for a new job or company transfer."

I’ve lived in the Jersey shores and next door on the boardwalk to Asbury Park. The thing that puzzles me is why anyone lives in that corrupt, hostile state in the first place.

Everybody moves out the day they stop working. If youre not pulling down big bucks, you cant afford the taxes.

I moved to Jersey 26 years ago. When I moved onto my block, we had five retirees and three working families. Now the retirees are all gone or moved, but new retirees have not replaced them.
My last day at work will be my last day in New Jersey. I can make more money here, but I pay for the opportunity.
In all seriousness, urban flight is largely crime driven. We all know the score. I could say some un-PC things but won’t.

Shouldnt NJ be paradise? After all the RATS control that state and they have truly honest people like Bob Menendez representing them in Congress.
