Native American Activist Nathan Phillips Never Served in Vietnam — But Raised Money By Saying He Did

The Washington Post has had to issue yet another retraction after falsely claiming that far-left Native American activist Nathan Phillips served in the Vietnam War. He didn’t — but this lie was previously used to help raise money for a documentary about his life.

On Monday, the Washington Post quietly issued a correction to their story about the activist, saying that while he served in the Marines, he was never deployed to Vietnam.

“Correction: Earlier versions of this story incorrectly said that Native American activist Nathan Phillips fought in the Vietnam War. Phillips served in the U.S. Marines from 1972 to 1976 but was never deployed to Vietnam,” the correction reads.

Hey, hey, no fair, no fair! You’re picking on a MINORITY here, you shouldn’t be picking his story apart, and in public, too!

Anybody says he is an Indian (or the more politically correct “Native American”), IS one in the eyes of the law. The business of being a war veteran, with combat experience, is also supposed to be sacrosanct. But if it turns out to be a *L*I*E*, then things shift to a different perspective.

“This clown is as useless as the wooden Indian in Wall Drug. Wall, South Dakota.”

The Wall Drug Wooden Indian serves a purpose. He/it is a logo for Wall Drug.

If he was a Recon Marine he would have been sent to RVN,
trust me.
He sounds like just another bullshit guy trying to impress others with respect to his bold and fearless, but totally fake combat service.
I am sick of them.

The custom is to use the descriptor “Vietnam Veteran” for those that were in country (not necessarily in a combat role or zone). For those that served during the Vietnam war but did not actually serve in Vietnam, they use the descriptor “Vietnam Era Veteran”.

If he served, there will be a document, a “DD-214.”
