I find it unsettling that comments on this thread justify taking a soul due to physical defects
If we empathize with her pain and loss - and who doesn't - then we're asked to condemn many viable babies to death a few days before they're bore.
That's a bridge too far...
My heart goes out to this woman - but her pain doesn't justify the murder of millions live children and the pain that causes to older women who spend a lifetime second guessing their choice.
So now they will live the rest of their lives in regret amd depression. Bully for them.
My grand Nephew was born with Duchene’s MD, he may live to 30 as his organs deteriorate, he has a speech impediment, and his muscles are starting to weaken. His mom doesn’t care that he’s not perfect she loves him.
My Friend Lisa was a Down’s baby, she just passed at age 50 unrelated health issue. She was Mild and learned to care for herself with a little supervision. Driving was out of course. Most loving person you ever met.
My Friend Roger was born with EDS he is now a successful Mathematician Prof, Freelance writer, middle age now and decided NOT to pass the gene on and didn’t marry. Has a full life.
Regular Ultrasounds are not very reliable and not as detailed as a 3 D one.
This is the typical, and effective, tactic used by the left. Like the how does my gay relationship affect your marriage?. Which soon becomes forced acceptance. Or why would you deny an elderly person in pain to get relief from using marijuana?. Which is resulting in states legalization for recreational use. Or how can you let a woman die in a back alley abortion?, with the result of over 50 million abortions. Or, the poor single mom from Mexico who just wants a better life for children, to justify open border mass immigration. The Left uses compassion and deception to achieve their goal.
Yeah - a single case where it was “ultra convenient” to kill an unborn baby makes up for all the pure “convenience” abortions and wanton killing of millions of innocents.
Well we did get an emotionalized telling of one side of the story, that is enough to reach an intelligent decision, right?
I fell over 85 feet and survived. It was a miracle. Could a miracle have occurredregarding the baby in her womb? We will not ever know. Removing faith in miraculous works is a reason for our trek towards barbarism.
This story has nothing to do with the abortion on the day of natural birth abortions, which is what the national conversation has been about the past week or two.
Just used as an opportunity to take a shot at President Trump.
Damage control. There are instances that should be considered (such as the health of the mother), but to blanket all late term abortions with this blanket of legitimacy is just wrong.
The Axis lost WWII but the Nazis won; abortion was one of the “crimes against humanity” for which men were hung at Nuremberg, and now it is applauded as a basic human right. People who abort less-than-perfect babies simply want a master race - just like Hitler did. I’m not being preachy - we’ve had our own concerns as our children were born, but figured the “easy way” was one that would haunt us forever.
As I understand it, Iceland has eliminated the gene for Down’s Syndrome completely via abortion - great Aryans /s.
I don't want to know anything about your late-term abortion. Or your sexual relations. Or your vagina. I would appreciate some attempt at modesty, some discretion in publicly airing topics that are nobody's business but yours and the Lord's.
So can you please crawl back under whatever slime-coated rock you made your home?
Hmm. I get your sarcasm. Yet theres nothing intelligent about deciding to not kill ones own child.
this woman and her husband lost out on the child God had for them and all they would have learned of selflessness through the process of raising the child. Likely with support of family, friends and support groups, church etc. But when you put your own selfish thoughts above God - you do as she did and kill your child.
Poor snowflakes. So they couldn’t bear the trauma(burden) of having a less than perfect baby. How selfish. Didn’t even think of alternatives.
Which begs the question, where do we draw the line? Outright murder is being legislated, for whatever (or no) reason. When will God visit his vengeance on us? Are we prepared?
Her case is not equivalent to all cases.
Huffington Post. It’s a joke of a website. Wouldn’t read it if you paid me.
I was born breech in a difficult delivery and was completely blue and unresponsive. The doctor told my parents that I most likely had brain damage and would have all sorts of problems. But I turned out to be a good natured baby. The biggest problem they had with me was that I was very good at getting away and wandering off as soon as I was able to do more than crawl.
We lived on a hill and had some long steep concrete steps. My mom told my wife that I kept trying to ride my tricycle down them. My wife asked if they didn’t try using a some type of baby gate. My mom replied that they thought that I would learn.
Once I got to the bottom of the steps with my tricycle I would take off on an adventure. One time the police caught me riding down a busy arterial still heading away from home over half a mile away. Fortunately, my parents had put their name and address on the tricycle because they didn’t want to lose it.
Nick Voujicic’s parents knew he would have problems yet had him and he struggled to make sense of his life as a child but God helped him find his purpose. So many murdered unborns may have had another purpose if they were allowed to be born, but now their only purpose is to try to help people see every life is important and God knows why even if your brain disagrees.
