Venezuela’s self-proclaimed acting president Juan Guaido refused to rule out on Friday the possibility of authorizing United States intervention to help force President Nicolas Maduro from power and alleviate a humanitarian crisis.

National Assembly leader Guaido told AFP he would do “everything that is necessary... to save human lives,” acknowledging that US intervention is “a very controversial subject.”

Hey Juan, I think you're jumping the gun a little bit. Like a few steps that have to happen in between point A and point B? Where do these guys come from?

We shouldn’t. They elected him even if it was rigged. Perhaps a coalition of neighboring states can move in with our assistance but no US troops. It would be nice if internal or external events lit a fire under the Cuban people. Cuban Spring.

I’m surprised Guaido is still on this side of the dirt.

> Guaido will not rule out authorizing US intervention <

I’m a US taxpayer, and I rule out authorizing US intervention.

(I tried that once before, when Bush invaded Iraq. It didn’t work. But there is no harm trying again.)

Don’t worry. It won’t be any longer brief intervention by the US than Vietnam,Afghanistan,Iraq,Syria and similar places. Korea is practically over despite ceasefire since the 1950s.

In an out in a few decades at most. We’ll barely notice it.

It would have been nice if Dubya Bush had fixed Cuba when the window was open. The USSR had just collpased, he had a GOP house and Senate, and conservative USSC, with nothing else on his plate. Thanks a lot, George.

Too many Maduro loyalists in their military.

Maduro has until the end of April to go willingly.

There will be some degree of civil war.

“Venezuela’s self-proclaimed acting president Juan Guaido”

He is not the self proclaimed president. Their version of congress named him president. The stranglehold the left has on news outlets is just depressing.

Yep. There was a golden opportunity there. And didn’t Jimma Cotta oversee the election and approved of it?

Somebody in the Military will turn on Maduro and assassinate him.

Some say it is authorized in their constitution. If it is, so be it.

I hate commie dictators.

I also hate committing US troops to this type of situation.

There are times when there are no other options, and it makes sense.

Maduro is an evil thief. He and Chavez, and their friends have destroyed a once prosperous nation.

all the while holding the biggest oil reserves in the world.”

It is not that simple. The reserve is huge, but it is very heavy crude which complicates extraction, transportation and refining. The US refineries are the best to do that job. So, it is not as simple as pumping into a pipeline.

“Venezuela’s self-proclaimed acting president Juan Guaido...”

Yo Leftists, how about INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED, rather than ‘self-proclaimed’ because that is the case, and it is a LOT MORE countries than just the United States who recognize Guaido as the legitimate leader of that country.

Would be nice if Venezuelans & Cubans sent Maduro & the Castro brother running for the hills forever. Just think the powerhouse of freedom and enterprise Venezuela and Cuba could become. All of South, Central & Latin America would follow their lead.

Shucks scores of top notch, talented, Venezuelans & Cubans now living in South Florida could go home and aid their countries greatly!!!
