Your comment is irrelevant. That has nothing to do with what we’re discussing. That is for another thread.
Even with the threat of being drawn and quartered this would never happen from myself.
Try enforcing it. You’d have better luck trying to enforce gun laws.
And you think pedophilia is special, why?
"When they stay silent on illegal gun owners in their midst, why should they be above the law?"
Like the sound of that? If you let the camel's nose in the tent, you'll soon get the whole camel in there with you.
The Greeks don't understand it that way. Do they not understand Greek?
I have yet to see examples or an explanation of how these types of laws are supposedly going to work in practice for priests that have allegedly heard something in confession. I mean is it going to be prosecuted base on hearsay or secretly recorded confessions or what? Are abusers going to get sentencing considerations from prosecutors for alleging that they have confessed to priests? Do laws like this open up civil litigation for what was said or told in confession? Seems like these are pretty basic questions to ask.

Thank you.
Calif:
1. no straws
2. no bottled water in meetings held at public buildings
3. no calling a male Tranny “he”, same in reverse
4. require special catalytic converter
5. 90% of guns illegal there
6. background check for ammo, purchases limited
7. priests must rat on believers
OTHERS that I missed..?

Of course it’s different, there is a young victim of a pedophile,an illegal gun owner has no victim.

Hi.

It would be INCREDIBLY easy to enforce:
Some "troubled person" from da gummint would go and confess to, say, killing someone.
Then they'd sit back and see if the Priest did report on the confession.
That's not going to stop liberals/statists, or even slow them down.
And when the priest says “if this person confessed to me, he confessed anonymously, so I had nothing to report,” then what?
Wow, you’re right.
That really makes me mad.
I found an SJ Merc article that covers that, but it’s paywalled.
You’re right.
Really, who is stupid enough to tell a priest that he owns guns.
Priests, by and large, are enemies of the American people...since they represent the Catholic church.
A publisher, editor, reporter, or other person connected with or employed upon a newspaper, magazine, or other periodical publication, or by a press association or wire service, or any person who has been so connected or employed, shall not be adjudged in contempt by a judicial, legislative, or administrative body, or any other body having the power to issue subpoenas, for refusing to disclose the source of any information procured while so connected or employed for publication in a newspaper, magazine or other periodical publication, or for refusing to disclose any unpublished information obtained or prepared in gathering, receiving or processing of information for communication to the public.Nor shall a radio or television news reporter or other person connected with or employed by a radio or television station, or any person who has been so connected or employed, be so adjudged in contempt for refusing to disclose the source of any information procured while so connected or employed for news or news commentary purposes on radio or television, or for refusing to disclose any unpublished information obtained or prepared in gathering, receiving or processing of information for communication to the public.
As used in this subdivision, unpublished information includes information not disseminated to the public by the person from whom disclosure is sought, whether or not related information has been disseminated and includes, but is not limited to, all notes, outtakes, photographs, tapes or other data of whatever sort not itself disseminated to the public through a medium of communication, whether or not published information based upon or related to such material has been disseminated.
What is it that is so important in confession that it must be disclosed, but journalists are constitutionally protected from such disclosures?
Wouldn't it be more likely that journalists would discover more pressing information than clergy?
There are many people who call themselves journalists in California. What are the chances that some of them hide behind shield laws to cover up their own knowledge of illicit behavior?
Maybe California politicians should focus on amending the Constitution to remove absolute protections on MSM disclosures before turning on religion?

With the DemonRats in charge of Kalifornia most sins aren’t civil crimes now anyway. They just legalized murder in NY. The tired, fallacious ‘clump of cells’ idiom cannot be applied to a newborn, living human infant but that didn’t stop them. Abortion is their unholy religion which they can’t afford to lose when RBG dies. This is all demonically inspired preparation to preserve Abortion when Roe v Wade is overturned and states rights to govern Abortion kick in.
The kind stupid enough to tell a priest they molest children?
Priests, by and large, are enemies of the American people...since they represent the Catholic church.
So do you want to put all Catholics in prison camps, or only priests? Or do you just want us all dead? After all, we're "enemies of the American people".
The last nation that declared an entire religion their enemy didn't fare too well. Look it up.
Fantastic catch.
