Amazing. He could live for a month or more - gain five pounds or more - and still be legally aborted in Virginia or New York.
Numerous studies of low birth weight babies show that these kids tend to do very poorly as they grow up.IIRC academic achievement tends to be poor as do various behavior parameters.I believe it’s thought that problems with brain development,in utero as well as after birth,are the main cause.

FWIW, Japan bans abortion after five months. The tone of their article is pride in their medical system to be able to save a baby so young, especially a little boy who have much lower premature survival rates than little girls.

No, I dont think that this is what is being said.
I would not intervene in such a pregnancy, but instead let nature take its course.
