The concertina wire installed under the Trump administration to reinforce the U.S.-Mexico border is now being stolen and used to protect Tijuana residences as the city grapples with a surge in crime, officials confirmed Monday.
Thieves are stealing and selling the same concertina wire installed in November along the border by the Department of Homeland Security, and 15 to 20 arrests have already been made, city officials said.

No, they are cheap. They could even be solar powered, LOL. But why could they not be defeated simply by running a shorting wire to ground?
The border situation is a sticky one. IMO very little short of brutal is going to work.

Of course walls and concertina wire and electrification and strafing with bullets don’t work. Nancy Pelosi has forbidden such measures, as they may have some adverse effects, doncha know.
If we could just go ahead and knock down their drones that scout out the unprotected parts of the border, left unattended while swarms of “family units” have the Border Patrol otherwise engaged, without having to go to get a court order that won’t be granted until long after the drone has done its mischief, it would help keep down the drug and human trafficking.
And when the invaders do get thru, they should all be TATOOED immediately for Future ID purposes..
Usually the only way to stop an invasion.

Do you have any contacts in Tijuana? Slightly used military-grade concertina wire is available there. And the prices are reasonable.
Maybe they’d like to try stealing the ball bearings out of a claymore.

Somebody needs to introduce a bill in Congress that removes them from all prisons then.
Absolutely. Concertina wire is supposed to be shored up with mines and belt fed weapons. Even a wall will have to be monitored, maybe not quite as much as a wire barrier, but if left unattended, it will be defeated.
