If it wasn’t for a capitalist system, our current corrupt government would have buried this country a long time ago under a socialist model.

These idealistic fools don't seem to understand that the real problem causing Socialism's failures is human nature. People ultimately simply won't help pull the wagon when it's full of deadbeats. As for the corruption part, there's a reason for the old adage: power corrupts - absolute power corrupts absolutely. The reason it's old, is because it's true.
That is, unless they are just lying fools, and expect us to believe their lies.

South America is corrupt, top to bottom. But Venezuela was one of the richest countries in South America, in spite of the corruption, until the socialists took charge.
The problem is definitely socialism.

Socialism is corruption. It is government as the mafia.

Cool! All we need are uncorruptible, purely selfless government officials and we’ll end up with a Socialist paradise! Let’s have at it.

Corrupti is endemic to socialism, which concentrates power in the government.
Venezuela was doing much, much better before socialism took over.

Thor Bensonmar is a total moron. Socialism is corruption. It turns it’s administrative state into a corrupt dictatorship EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Gosh - such a paragon of education and he can’t make the connection that socialism is a corrupt concept by its very nature.

It may well have been corruption that caused most of the damage in Venezuela. However, corruption is inextricably linked with socialism. In every socialist nation, or experimental commune, those making the decisions for “The Masses” make sure that they and their friends and family get their cut first, with the crumbs left over for the proletariat. To make a statement that “it wasn’t socialism but corruption” ignores both history and human nature.

Socialism done correctly by the right people with the right diversity would resemble Disneyland or Disney World; there would be music everywhere; food would be delicious nutritious and free, water would be sparkling crystal clear and free, each and every person would believe and think the same things and it would be free, every one would be laughing, smiling, happy beyond known bounds and it would be free, the best health care would be free ... also free would be the euthanasia pill.
