It don’t matter? I don’t know where ya get that. It certainly matters! And what the leftist Trump haters believe is irrelevant. Like the flat earth stooges. What they believe means zip.

I totally agree that the he has shown great patience. Now that this report has been published I firmly believe it is time for him to tell his side of the story with all the details of what the other side tried to do. Nationally televised speech would be a great idea IMHO.

Doesn’t matter once he offered to resign. Which Trump chose not to accept.

That would be a great one!

Ffs of course it mattered...who was going to take over as AG if Sessions resigned, some Obama holdover?

The GOP led Senate (most of whom were plotting against Trump) made it very clear they weren’t going to entertain another AG confirmation during that current term of Congress.

Jeff Sessions screwed Trump over royally...and it would not surprise me to find Sessions treachery against Trump extends all the way back to the campaign itself.

Page 52, quoting Assange talking about Hillary in writing to other WikiLeaks members:

“She’s a bright, well connected, sadisitic [sic] sociopath.”

LOL, that’s a great short summary!

Assange didn’t like Trump either.

I hope Assange gets everything (like a long jail sentence) he deserves.

“Ffs of course it mattered...who was going to take over as AG if Sessions resigned, some Obama holdover?”

Amazing how so few around here ever bothered to find out what options Trump has. And who still don’t have a clue about it for that matter.

The governing law is the Federal Vacancies Reform Act of 1998, (5 U.S.C. § 3345).

Trump had a number of options at his disposal and Congress could not have held him hostage by refusing to confirm his nominee, despite what the sky-is-falling crowd likes to believe.

He could make a recess appointment. He could move a Senate-confirmed officer over from another post. He could install a GS-15 for 210 days, and if the Senate refused to confirm he could extend the appointment, and if the Senate refused again he could extend again.

Trump wasn’t trapped. He used this very same law when he appointed Whitaker. He was trapped only in the imaginations of those who don’t bother to find out what the law has to say.

... and, by the way, Trump COULDN’T make a recess appointment because those dickheads in Congress refused to recess just to take that option away from him.

Even more amazing that you'd have Trump scrambling to find a replacement Attorney General (in addition to a replacement NSA) in his first 100 days in office.

He could move a Senate-confirmed officer over from another post

How many cabinet level officers had even been sworn in by the time Sessions recused in early March 2017, and how many of those would be a good fit at the Dept. of Justice?

He could make a recess appointment.

Congress wasn't going to recess for months, so that option was off the table.

He could install a GS-15 for 210 days

The most likely replacement scenario given the circumstances, and as a Washington DC outsider Trump would be at a huge disadvantage trying to choose a replacement from the professional ranks at DOJ, which were chock full of his enemies.

I can't think of a more effective way to hamstring a new administration than by having the Attorney General resign a month after taking office. The notion that you'd think this is an acceptable outcome or that Jeff Sessions is an honorable man is simply a reflection of your own poor judgment.

It would help if the Leftist Media and pundits would stop lying about this Amazing Man. Instead they double down on their hate. How anyone could believe the liars is beyond me.

“Even more amazing that you’d have Trump scrambling to find a replacement Attorney General (in addition to a replacement NSA) in his first 100 days in office.”

A red-herring. Trump had the ability to replace Sessions at any point that was convenient. He didn’t have to act within the first 100 days.

“How many cabinet level officers had even been sworn in by the time Sessions recused in early March 2017,”

All of them except Perdue at Agriculture and Acosta at Labor.

“Congress wasn’t going to recess for months, so that option was off the table.”

And your evidence that Trump himself considered it “off the table” is exactly nothing. The Senate recessed in August 2017. Had Trump been itching to replace Sessions he had the power to do it.

“Trump would be at a huge disadvantage trying to choose a replacement from the professional ranks at DOJ, which were chock full of his enemies.”

Yeah, because out of the thousand or so GS-15s Trump wouldn’t have been able to find a single one who would have worked out. Of course that’s exactly what he did when he appointed Matt Whitaker.

“is simply a reflection of your own poor judgment.”

Those whose own thinking is filled with weak arguments probably shouldn’t resort to ad hominems. Just a helpful suggestion.

Strozk looks like an absolute maniac in that photo.

He needs to be in jail like yesterday. Along with Brennan.

It appears that about 20 pages have been at least half to completely redacted. Can’t wait to see an analysis of what topics were leading into those “forbidden” pages.
