House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) on Friday gave Attorney General Bill Barr an ultimatum — comply with the “counter offer” or the committee will move forward with contempt of Congress.
“The committee is prepared to make every realistic effort to reach an accommodation with the department,” Nadler wrote in a letter to Bill Barr on Friday. “But if the department persists in its baseless refusal to comply with a validly issued subpoena, the committee will move to contempt proceedings and seek further legal recourse.”
Nadler gave the Justice Department a 9 AM Monday deadline to comply with the committee’s new offer, which includes allowing more members of Congress to look at a less-redacted version of Mueller’s report. Nadler also wants Barr to seek a court order to grant lawmakers the right to view the underlying grand jury material — Barr blocked the grand jury material from the public and Congress to protect innocent people who have not been indicted.
Under special counsel rules, Attorney General Bill Barr didn’t even need to release Mueller’s report to the public or to Congress. The unredacted version of the report is in a SCIF [Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility] for certain lawmakers to view, however, only two lawmakers have actually viewed the less-redacted version of the report.

Nadler tells Barr on Friday afternoon to violate the law (on disclosure of protected information) by first thing Monday morning, or they will declare him in contempt of Congress.
Clearly, they are going to do it anyway, because they want the talking point to use to discredit him in slanted press coverage.
There is not a shred of substance here, it is purely a partisan abuse of office. Sitting Congressmen are strongly protected from legal prosecution for such behavior though.
Barr should inform the pig that his contempt of Congress has already occurred.
Or the real reason is its all show for the dummies and Democrats since I heard that Barr cannot be held in contempt because he was NOT subpoenad...he volunteered to appear.

Let me get this straight. Nadler is seriously whining that Barr won’t release grand jury material to Nadler, even though it is illegal to do so as the SCOTUS just confirmed two weeks ago. Never mind that the Special Counsel law specifies that this report is supposed to be confidential only to the AG. The President or AG could have held it ALL back and been correct. Do I have that right? Barr should tell “Staples” Nadler to pound sand.
Barr should counter with an indictment
Let them hold him in contempt. Barr can fight that too.
Barr should send Every house member their own bu met of KFC. The sargeant of arms should guard them so Fat Boy doesn’t eat them alll.
Nadler can continue to screw around seeking headlines but he can’t do a damned thing to the AG, and he knows (or certainly should know) it.
