Everything about NASCAR sucks these days. They really Jumped the Shark when Toyota joined, and it’s been downhill ever since.

Been racing this track the past week online in iracing- Yeesh- people can’t drive it very well at all- out of 20-25 starting cars- only around 8 or less make it to finish line-

Fun fun track though- I see a lot of what happens in the online game, ie air wash- front end pushing toward wall in the draft, etc- happen in the real race on tv- Most people keep the throttle down in the corners right behind the person in front, and that’s where the problems happen- they catch the draft and are going 5-10 mph faster than the car in front, and they don’t let off in corners- and wham- Actually saw that happen in the short indi race on tv the other day- fella got going too fast and slid

Will be fun to watch- Racing the track online gives a lot of insight into the track conditions, bumps, apron spin etc- will be fun to watch-

Will listen to Indycar radio here:http://player.listenlive.co/20111 (FM 107.5/1070). Muted the television.

Haven’t really watch any auto races in any league this year until today.

Watched Monaco. Now Indy.

Too bad it couldn’t be commercial free like Monaco.

[[Those stupid stage races changed the sport]]

Agreed- that absolutely ruined nascar- I’m sure there are other things that are almost as bad now with new rules- but the staged crap- just ruins it- it’s like watching practice sessions now- or several qualifying runs (only with all the cars out there) I don’t even liek watchign it anymore really-

I really really hope Iracing doesn’t go to the staging format- otherwise I’m done-

Why shouldn’t Danica Patrick be there? I haven’t watched in years and really don’t know.

I went to a private girl’s school in Indianapolis about 100 years ago, met Toni (Antoinette) Hulman, 500 owner’s daughter, who had recently graduated from our school. When her dad died, she inherited the track and the business, ran it very well for decades.

I’ve been to the track a few times, saw time trials, and met a few drivers, notably Jim Clark AND Colin Chapman who owned and designed Lotus Cars. Even owned a Lotus Elan. And ended up managing the Lotus distributorship in the Midwest. Really fun days...and for my little kids too, who got to go to time trials.

So if Danica isn’t a good-enough driver anymore, OK, but if it’s because she’s a woman, I seriously object.

Veto!

Haven’t watched NASCAR in a while, but will watch today.

I’ve been to a bunch and was even on pit road a few times. It was amazing how fast they work while there were a few feet way. No kidding.

You maybe Correct,
I should have asked Him
Back in the early ‘90s.
I had him sign a Photo.
He is one of the few.

The Stupid Staging came after Toyota. They were just doubling down on Stupid when they adopted Staging.

I seriously think during the staging breaks they should have the drivers try various products and give us their thoughts.

They could start with coffee, tea, and pastries. Maybe next week Burgers, fries and soft drinks.

That’s cool, Thank You for Sharing and Posting it.

I remember when I was about 4 or 5 We visited the Track and rode the Tour Van around it. I thought the van was going to turn over. Decades later I stood on the Track at Bristol, now I realized it’s just because Indy was the 1st track I’d been on...
