Earlier this month, just weeks before the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, a Twitter user shared a since-deleted viral tweet directed at Pride goers. It contained a number of statements about the nature of Pride, with one particular remark sparking a string of intra-community discourse: Please dont bring your k*nks/fet*shes to pride, there are minors @ pride and this can sexualise the event."
Debate quickly followed within the queer community, calling into question the place of public displays of kink and BDSM at queer events. Some agreed with the original tweet, asseting that wearing fetish gear or publicly expressing ones sexuality would violate the consent of those present, as it could make people feel uncomfortable or triggered. Others challenged these sentiments. Kinks, sex, and protest are all inherent parts of pride, wrote Nicolette Mason on Twitter.

Dallas "pride parade" participant were outraged several years ago when it was emphasized that obscenity ordinances would be enforced for nudity and other suggestive dress.
Why Kink, BDSM, and Leather Should Be Included at Pride
But it won’t make the write-up in the local papers (or national for that matter.)
And what about the pedophiles? Why don’t they celebrate them (in public, instead of private?)
I guess we as a society are too “civilized” to remove this depravity from public display using whatever means necessary.
I recall something about a homosexual event, in San Francisco, where police wanted to set up a tent, to shield people from the more exuberant attendees, who wanted to express themselves publicly, and just couldn’t hold back. And people with no self control could go in the tent and take care of their business.
Some, not all of course, but some of the “gay” community revel in being obscene and flamboyant, and want to be outrageous in public.
The homo agenda always includes children. That is their real goal, which they barely even attempt to conceal.
Gay pride parade (note theyve dropped the gay part) - a parade devoted to demonstrate ones pride in their sexual choices.
But dont include BDSM or leather because this would sexualize the parade.
Uhhhh...
Why not bestiality? Bring your sheep, goats, dogs, whatever your fav four-legger is. “I was just trying to help that sheep over the fence, officer.”
They forgot FISTING. How much more “normal” can you get.
“there are minors @ pride and this can sexualise the event”
The event is inherently sexualized.
I think one of the real reasons they think they have to hyper-sexualize themselves in their parades is that otherwise, it would be just a boring bunch of androgenous people walking down the street.
The gays I know, abhor all this. They know it doesn’t help their cause. They just want to live their lives and be left alone.
They know all this will do is cause a backlash.
So, they don't like it solely because of the bad PR?
Does Pride month end soon (like at the end of June)? I’m sick of being bombarded with this crap. I was settling into the couch Sunday night getting ready to watch Big Little Lies and was “treated” to a montage of guys sucking face with other guys on HBO. Yuck and no thank you.
It’s almost enough to think that an Islamic takeover of the U.S. would do some good. We could deal with them once they do their chemotherapy work.
As a straight guy who supports human rights for LGBTs, This is a terrible idea and would make a total mockery of it. This will be resisted by most LGBT that I know.
In hotter parts of the U.S., they have a reprise in October, like in my city, when the weather starts to cool. So we get a double dose of this marketing.
Also, the "gay pride week" here lasts 12 days.
I don’t care if they tie eachoth up with yellow ribbons and put leather flowers in their hair....just as long as they don’t ask the government to pay for it with my tax dollars...que sera sera
