It’s a good start. I hope it continues and that it will discourage people to try to come here illegally.

You missed the point, sad to say. “Apprehensions” in the modern context means the Border Patrol escorted them to buses to detention centers for their court-mandated 21-day wait. Then they get bus tickets to the U.S. city of their choice. “Catch and release” is in full force. That is what “apprehension” means: catch and release.

Sadly, “apprehension” simply means to hand then a notice at appear in 3 years then they’re flown to the US city of their choice.

No. It isn’t a good start. I think you misunderstand what apprehensions mean. It means they are arrested for a brief time and then let go into the general population either because they have asked for asylum or there is no room to keep them.
