San Diego City Council: Guns Must Be Locked or Disabled in Homes

The San Diego City Council voted six to two Monday for an ordinance saying gun owners must lock up their firearms or disable them in the home. Fox 5 reports that the council’s six Democrat members all voted for the gun control, which is designed to force firearms to be locked up or be disabled even if no minors are present in the home.
ABC 10 reports that gun owners cannot legally store their firearms in just any lockbox, but they must be in a “Department of Justice-approved lockbox.” No indication was given for how much a DOJ approved lockbox will cost.

Probably one to which only the city council has the keys or combination. And I'm half joking here.

In other words, make your home defense weapon totally useless for home defense...
Smart...and what do you do in the 15-25 minutes it takes for the cops to get there? IF you have a chance to call 9-1-1 at all...
I’m glad I live in Texas where I can just put mine within easy reach and not worry about it...
Also while we’re on the subject..I recently found out Texas changed their laws in about 2007, now we can legally carry in our vehicles.
You have to be the legal owner of the car and firearm, and the gun has to be concealed.
We also got open carry last year, still have to have a concealed permit to do it though.

San Diego is hanging by a thread. The Mayor is GOP but the council is Rat.
